Interesting article on how George Allen is responsible for the demise of the GOP.
I found this to be an interesting theory. I didn't realize that the GOP "groomed" all of their candidates so carefully. Apparently the "macaca" comment made by George Allen was especially fatal to the GOP because they were grooming him for the presidency. Once he went down the toilet (and oh, how I enjoyed that!) they were left without a candidate.

Anyway, I enjoyed the article and it was written by a Repube.

1. Yep--the Repubs were not going to back McCain, no matter what--that's why I think
he'll lose the general. Excitement for him will be nonexistent.

3. It was only a matter of time
before people saw Allen as the mean and bigoted person he is. Virginians got a good look at the Virginia GOP and didn't like what they saw. That is why the state is moving incresasingly over to the Dems.

5. I disagree with the articles subheading.

Namely: Macaca' is forcing the GOP to wrestle with a field of phonies.

If George Allen was in the race, they'd still be wrestling with a field of phonies.

6. If their "great white hope" was George Allen then..
they deserve everything they get, and I hope they suck hard on it.

After sticking us with eight years of the most ignorant stupid person we've ever had to endure in the White House, they wanted to give us more of the same. Can you imagine what a disaster that would have been?

I hope the entire repuke party goes down in flames. They deserve nothing less.

8. If Bush and Allen Are the GOP Idea of Presidential Timber
it's no wonder the whole party structure is collapsing!
