Edited on Thu Jan-03-08 12:40 AM by Infinite Hope
This may evolve slightly, but here it goes. Those with an "*" denotes those who would be problematic picks due to their position in key Congressional seats. I will try to think of replacements. Reply with nominations for cabinet positions listed as open or with an "*" Have fun!

Secretary of State: Wesley Clark
Secretary of Treasury:
Secretary of Defense: Joe Biden

1. I like the list other than.....
Someone other than Biden for Sec of Defense. Maybe Richardson for SOS and Clark for SOD.

Maybe Patrick Fitzgerald for AG.
I would not take as many Senators. It's been a battle getting a majority there....no reason to give it up without a fight.

4. Wesley Clark can't be SOD until 2010.
Otherwise I'd have done exactly as you suggested. I've also been tossing around Patrick Fitzgerald for Attorney General! We're thinking eerily alike.

8. Oh my, that is one GREAT pick for press secretary, Nance.
Regarding the OP: nice list except I obviously would like Hillary as Pres. I like your vice-Pres choice a lot, though.

5. H&HS
Dennis Kucinich. He's got the right ideas about health care.

6. Just a hell of a lot of good people on that list, Infinite Hope.
If John Edwards is the President of the United States -- and that would be more than fine with me -- I'd like to see your choices for Veterans, Homeland Security, and Interior come true.

Max Cleland is strictly top-drawer.

Russ Feingold for a Supreme Court appointment. I'd maybe move John Lewis to a brand new Cabinet-level position as Ambassador of Peace. He'd be on a plane most of the time but would report to the President and the Congress on international relations generally and our need to improve our own relationships with other nations especially. Lewis is a capable, durable soul with a big heart.

John Kerry for Attorney General. I would feel a whole lot safer if John Kerry were in charge of Justice.

If Edwards is president, my guess is that David Bonior would become Sec. of Labor.

Sec. of Health and Human Services -- Bill Bradley.

12. Hey there Nance. Yes -- he's still a young guy and would be on that Court
forever. And he wouldn't be skeered of Scalia & John-boy either.

The Vice Presidency would also be a good choice, since it wouldn't hurt to put a terrific candidate in place for a 16-year plan. The veep debate would be fun to watch, too -- say, between Russ and some numbskull like Haley Barbour.

7. Elevate the EPA to a cabinet position. Ask Gore to help find the right
nominee.

Maybe Al Gore or Bill Clinton for UN Ambassador.

9. I'd like to see Jimmy Carter be offered a post.

He could of course politely turn it down. But I think it would be the right thing to do after the way BushCo and all the RW Hatemonger Radio propagandists have trashed him for the last seven years and more. Jimmy Carter is a better human being than any of them could ever dream of being.
