5. The Problem, I have with Bloomberg--These are the same
Candidates we had from the start. Sure, there are many Democrats
who wished for a different field. Why did Bloomberg not enter from
the beginning and fight it out showing us his ideas and the type
of platform he would offer?????

The idea that there is a group of Americans sitting in a Mushy
Middle or Center who have no convictions is ludicrous. Indepenents
are people who call themselves Independent but are Independent Democrats
or Independent Republicans. Yes, they are disenchanted with both
parties NOT because they want us to hold hands and sing CUM-BA-Yayh--
it is because each party has abandoned them. The Dems consistently
show an inablity to stand up and fight for their interests. The
GOP has driven the Country farther and farther right--Right into
a Ditch.

To corral this group as a base, Bloomberg needed to have started
long ago, IMO.

The most ludicrous thought of all is that a President can correct
this. The division is in Congress(both houses). It is the Congress
that enabled and continues to enable Bush to be King.

It sounds as if Bloomberg thinks the President is a king, also.

The Change will come from Congress. This is why it is so important
that we vet new members who wish to run for Congress, and yes
at some point stop giving money to old Members who vote against
our interest.

6. Here's my theory: He's either planning to run himself, or he's paving the way
for Hagel or someone else to be on top of the ticket with himself as Veep, funding the enterprise. I strongly suspect the former, and I don't buy his denials.

7. What you say makes sense. OTOH
his repeated denials, even now, after all the speculation about the OK meeting, are puzzling to say the least. The New Year statement ("I will not run...), no matter the frivolity of the context, is weird. Unless, of course, he just does not care and secretely enjoys letting people wonder whether he means what he says.... I assume that his ego will make it an (almost) impossibility for him to want to play second fiddle to anybody, but who knows, stranger things have happened, I suppose... The emphasis on foreign policy in the article in the OP is also puzzling, it is not his strong point, and he knows that. It is Hagel's strong point though.... Well, at least there is something else to speculate about besides Iowa :-).
