17. It Was In The High Seventies Today
In the high eighties yesterday...

We are supposed to have a few cold days 30/50 and then back up to 60/80 by the weekend...

if our message is that we're going to turn around and crush them.

2. I didn't choose.
The two choices offered are too polarized, with no reasonable in-between choices.

4. The Republican Party has nothing to offer for governing this country.
I am only interested in co-opting them to the extent it will destroy that wretched party. I am done with it.

6. What we NEED is about 40 years of a hard left turn in this country.
Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 05:25 PM by Kucinich4America
That would undo all the damage done since Reagan, and bring us back to the actual center.

Then, once that's done, we might even get in some actual LIBERAL years before I die (assuming I make it to fossil stage)

24. Very hard...
You know, during Raygun's years I thought it couldn't get any worse. Well, I was wrong. And for how bad it is now (and you know how bad that is) I will never again think that it can't get worse. You know, "fool me once..." I am about to become a Grandfather for the first time, and I want my grandchildren to actually see some liberal years, that is how hard it may be and how long it may take to turn things around. Don't forget the Supreme Court and its decisions will be with us for so long its difficult to even speculate.

10. I reject the BS that "it's a lie any Democrat would be better than any Republican"
All Democrats would be better than all Republicans.
There is a Red America and a Blue America, and we must prevail.

14. The poll creator is obviously an Obama poll-pusher
Note how he uses scary strawmen such as the part of us imposing our will on Republicans, as if any of us want to force them o do whatever we want them to do.

19. I Want Them
Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 06:12 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
I want to force them to allow

-gay marriage

-reproductive choice

-health care for all

-a sane foreign policy

-a progressive income tax

for starters...

on edit- I hate the argumentum ad populum fallacy but that sentiment seems very popular here...

What part of we should make the Republican party small enough to fit in a bathtub that you disagree with?

18. I dislike these extremist position polls. My view is in the middle. As are most Americans.
Wanna win in '08? Realize that most Americans do not represent extreme positions.

While I believe in reaching out to everyone...I don't think it's tied to party affiliation.

1/3 of the country are Repubs, 1/3 are Dems, and 1/3 are neither.

Our President will, I hope, represent ALL AMERICANS, regardless of party affiliation. We have not had that in 8 years. We need it desperately, no matter who wins the general election.

Give them an inch, they'll want a foot.

Treat them civilly, they see it as weakness

Extend your hand, they give you the finger.

28. There's no way to "crush" them at the ballot box
without shrinking their "them", meaning that there will be no landslide if we don't get some of the moderate republicans and independents on board.

I didn't vote, because I believe the premise behind the poll has some flaws.
