Kerry question
I used to live on Cape Cod until last year and there was a big debate about building a wind farm off of the coast of Nantucket.Kerry had said he was waiting for a report to come back before deciding if he would support it or not (Kennedy is already against...ruins his view dontcha know).

Anyways,I haven't been able to find anything more recent than last Sept. about this and was wondering if any Kerry people had some recent info on this.

I googled and didn't really find anything pertinent than I didn't already know,so if anyone can help me on this I'd really be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

1. I don't think he's said anything
I know I'm concerned about the harm it might do to the wildlife in the area, both in the air and in the sea.

2. I heard the project would be next to wildlife/bird sanctuary
Windmills and lots of birds nearby in a bird sanctuary equals...um...diced seagull sandwich anyone?

3. That's what I've heard too
though the Netherlands uses wind farms for a lot of power and they have birds too I assume.

As for the marine life I would think they would have no problem avoiding the bases of the wind towers. They avoid reefs, etc. The one problem would be a malfunction that might release gear oil into the sea, though the trade off of having less oil tankers and the problems inherent in them would be worth that risk imo.

The biggest stink being made by people is that it will ruin their view,to which I say thier view should include the flag draped coffins coming home because of our dependence on oil.Personally, the wind farms seem kind of elegant to me.
