Rasmussen daily graph for 12/30/07 - Clinton and Obama down 1, Edwards up 2
(These graphs are all contained on one Web page at http://www.dvorkin.com/rastrack.html)

(Pretend that the 10 and 20 lines are actually 0. Does anyone know how to make Excel label different parts of the axis differently?)

1. Just a general polling question:
All of the candidates seem to have spikes and dives. What do you think causes those? Why, all of a sudden one candidate's numbers shoot up? Is it a debate appearance? TV ads? What do you think?

2. With A MOE Of 4.4% It Could Be Statistical Noise

3. That would be my guess
The spikes and dips must be pretty significant, given that the chart shows four-day averages.

Theoretically, the actual day-to-day number for a candidate could vary by almost 9%.
