3. He isn't perfect either
People need to take just as hard a look at decisions he made before his current conversion as they do at any other candidate.

7. Are any of them perfect? Did anyone claim he is perfect?
They each have flaws and votes in the past that we don't agree with.

15. Regarding "stfu"
People should not have to "stfu" because the poster doesn't want to see anything bad about John Edwards. They all have faults and the responsible thing to do is consider the faults honestly.

9. Fear and desperation are rampant around here today. I support JRE - as do millions of others.
A few snarky, often disengenuous comments will not stop the dream!

21. What Gandhi had to say about that fear and desperation...
"First they ignore you."

"Then they laugh at you."

"Then they fight you."

"Then you win."

I think we're at the fight stage.

:hi:

6. the new posting strategy is HILLarious
One posts something, and then within 5 minutes another posts a direct link back to the initial post.

Wonder if a meeting was called to map out THAT strategy?

8. I doubt anyone wants to stop you. You should vote
for him if he's the candidate you believe in. But all the shut the fuck ups in the world don't make him immune from criticism or analysis. Live with it.

27. stalking horse
Discouraging people from voting for Edwards may be a stalking horse for discouraging people from considering the ideas that Edwards is expressing and for discouraging broader participation in the national political discussion. Both of those - increased participation by everyday non-political people, and the expression of the traditional Democratic party arguments defending the have-nots and the less fortunate and the left behind - threaten the powerful in both parties. The ongoing candidate fights obscure what is important and break down effective communication.

Dodd, Biden, Richardson and Kucinich are all expressing these ideas as well, and we will all need to work together in the days to come. So "STFU" may not be the best thing to be saying.

How about "SHO" - "speak the hell out." But let's talk about ideas, principles, solidarity; let's find the common ground and build a strong foundation for the fight ahead. Almost all of the people here are sincere, thoughtful and considerate. Don't let the few drive us off-purpose and put up needless barriers between potential allies and friends.

We are what is important, not the politicians. That is the essence of the Democratic party and of democracy itself.

38. Not at all.
No vote cast for something or someone I feel is best for the nation is ever wasted.

A wasted vote is the one where I hold my nose and vote for something or someone I don't want, believing that I "have no choice."

Right after "Sanity is overrated"
"STFU" - is something they tell people on that other website. Here, we discuss. No matter what you base your vote on - it's not all about you - sorry to disappoint you. Some people actually reason through their voting decision.
Still, I wonder what did I miss that so many of you got THAT defensive.

36. Well, the Florida Democratic Party stopped me.
They are simply a branch of the Florida Republican Party, and they killed all our delegates to the convention and the value of our primary. So, good luck to those of you who CAN vote for the candidate of your choice.
