5. I think that's a fair assessment...
I will (of course) be disappointed for Biden, but all our candidates are strong and I will support whoever wins the nomination.

27. I guess that description fits
I'd be optimistic and hopeful that we get the John Edwards of his campaign rhetoric, the guy who wants to fight poverty and do away with the "two Americas". As opposed to the guy who voted for the Patriot Act and the IWR and hangs out with the Bilderbergers.

If he lives up to his words, he could be a great president.

4. If The Carolinian prevails in Denver, those loud cheers you'll hear are from our
house.

The same affirmation and support will be extended to our nominee and ticketmate no matter which two Democrats it is, with Zell Miller being the lone exception.

6. I don't know
Until several months ago I continued my support from 2004, put my money where my clicks were.

But I have been disappointed with his anger and populism which, if continues, can drive moderates and independents away.

Also, I am concerned about his lack of experience with foreign affairs that, regardless of Bhutto murder, can bring McCain to the White House if we cannot show a more experienced candidate, especially if something - not necessarily a terrorist attack - happens a few weeks before the general elections.

7. Halfway between 1 and 2
I really like Edwards, the more I hear the more I like.

But there's a few things that require a sense of caution and restraint, so I'll place myself between choices one and two.

8. some excitement mixed with equal parts of trepidation
It's very unlikely he will win, but if he does, he'll be outspent by the repukes by at least a factor of 5. He'll have virtually no money for months, and he won't be able to run candidate ads.

18. I Like Him, But Accepting Federal Matching Funds and Spending Limits Would be Fatal
Edwards should know that from 2004.

All the Repiglickons have to do is another round of Swift Boating just like 2004. Make stuff up. The MSM will repeat it for free until it sticks. Make Edwards spend all his money in August fighting the Swift Boaters as he has pledged to do, so he will be broke in October and doomed.

19. No, he won't be broke in October. That's not the problem.
Directly after the convention, he'll pick up his check for the general. It's the months between the time he has enough votes in the primaries (assuming he's the winner) and the convention, that's the problem for him. He's limited to spending $50 million in the primary. So say he has enough votes by the end of Feb. He then has almost 6 months and no more than $20 million to spend. And not only does he need to run ads, he's got all the other expenses involved in running a campaign. 527s can help, but they can't run candidate ads and they can't coordinate with the campaign. The repuke candidate, presumably someone who doesn't have that limitation, will be free to raise and spend as they wish. In 2004, bush spent over $250 million in the primaries.

20. The Swift-Boating Will Start In Earnest After the Convention Unless Someone Has It Locked Up By Then
Directly after the convention, he'll pick up his check for the general.

And the Swift Boat Liars and their allies in the media spring into action and force him to spend it all.
They don't have to spend much at all themselves, just a little ad buy and the Mighty Slime Machine does the rest for free.

There's really no doubt about it. And I expect the repub nomination will as well.

10. Hopeful, but
resigned to the fact that America is not ready for someone who actually will stand by them 100% and considers their situation BEFORE voting or making decisions. However, Edwards is the second best choice IMHO to represent Americans.

If he does win, I hope he will select Joe Biden as VP or Sec. of State.

14. I think either Obama or Edwards will need and "elder statesman"
Personally, I hope he picks Dodd as his VP. Of course, I also want Dodd as Senate Majority Leader, so maybe he'll first need to be cloned...

15. Yes, I agree
They both will need elder statesmen, & Dodd has been a champion of the little guy for years. We do indeed have a good group of Dems & I wish they did not have to compete against each other, especially for corp. money. That's when we get the WORST candidate.

Snatching Dodd from CT would be strategically a good move, in that he most likely would be replaced by a Dem that could hold the seat. I'm not sure about Delaware, but perhaps Biden would be replaced by a good, strong Dem there, too.

I hope Russ Feingold finds a place in the Cabinet, too.

I don't think he will win the nomination. He may pick up Iowa, but down the road, I don't think he will do that well.

But I'll support him 100% if he does!

Edwards is way more vulnerable than Biden, Clinton or Obama. John's sharp turns in policy give the GOP a navy of Swiftboats.
