HISTORIC NEBRASKA DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS WELCOME!

Look what I just got in my mail.

Welcome, Steve, and thank you for committing to participate in the first Nebraska Democratic Caucus on February 9, 2008! This is an historic event!

The strength of unions comes from the commitment of members like you who are willing to come together with other union members and make the voice of labor heard.

Please speak with members of your family about the importance of the caucus and encourage them to attend as well.

There are only three requirements to participate. You must:

1. Register as a Democrat (you can register to vote or re-register as a Democrat at the caucus on February 9th);

2. Be 18 years of age by November 4, 2008, and

3. Live within the boundaries of your caucus location.

As we get closer to February 9th, we will tell you the time and location of your caucus so you can get to the right place.

For now, we’re simply asking you to mark February 9th on your calendar!

Thanks again, Steve, for your interest, enthusiasm, and commitment to the cause of organized labor for the good of all!

2. Nebraska has had it's moment. They gave Robert Kennedy
a great win in '68

Kennedy finally won the Indiana and Nebraska Democratic primaries , but lost the Oregon primary. If he could defeat McCarthy in the California primary, the leadership of the campaign thought, he would knock him out of the race and set up a one-on-one against Hubert Humphrey (whom he bested in the primary held on the same day as the California primary in Humphrey's birth state, South Dakota) at the Chicago national convention in August.
