2. Ralph didn't want to wait
until the Green Party nominating convention in June, so he dropped ship.

5. The Greens didn't want him
this time around, they finally got wise to the damage he did to them and they don't want anything to do with him, he had very little support. Besides, dollars to doughnuts he's being funded by the repukes, so it doesn't matter anyway.

3. Because they're intelligent
Enough to see that Bush is the devil anyways. Nader loves Bush so he's running regardless of them.

7. No, they don't, actually,
He has very little support among many of the major party members and branches, and they made it clear they didn't want him this time. Besides, like I said, I believe he's being funded by the repukes this time.

He obviously doesn't give a shit about this country or it's citizens, and frankly anyone who votes for him now, given the stakes in this election and the fact that the country simply will not survive another four years (hell, not even another TWO years), is a traitor, pure and simple.

9. Ralph has a curious disease.
Compulsive intermittant righteousness lecturing. Every 4 years he is compelled to run and tell us how terrible our political institution is. In fact, it's his 3% control of electoral votes that distorts and stymies the popular will of the true majority.

6. He said back in December
That if he did run it wouldn't be as a Green. That's all I know.

8. the Green Party has expressed support for Nader's candidacy...
Edited on Mon Feb-23-04 09:53 PM by mike_c
...but he is not a candidate for the Green nonination. Google Green Party USA and look for their press release on the matter.

As for the other replies in this thread (so far), DU posters used to use their heads before they spoke, most of the time at least, before simply talking out of their butts. I'm really disappointed in the tenor of discussion on DU recently. The early replies to this thread epitomize the decline in thoughtfulness that has occurred lately.

on edit: my skin is VERY thick, so I don't give a rat's buttocks about rude replies. Flame away. Bounces off me and sticks on you....

10. They kicked him out on his ass.
and anyone who says they didn't is a flat out liar. They made it very clear to him he would not be their nominee.

I personally know two paid Green staffters who threatened to leave the party if Nader ran as a Green. Both said that they were not about to see their party and all their hard work destroyed for the sake of Nader's megalomaniacal impulses.
