i felt it was racist, and nasty. dunno, i'm having a hard time figuring out how to put exactly why i feel shaheen should have gone. plus, shaheen set that up. i believe we knew almost a day in advance that that was going to go down. I read it was going to happen and i actually wrote to the hillary campaign not to do it, and then it happened and it was so ugly i couldn't believe it. Maybe i'm more sensitive to it b/c i'm a hillary supporter, don't know. dunno, hard to explain. i feel shaheen's comment was dirty, and axel's was just ugly. :D.

It's a bit of a stretch to assert that Pakistan would've been safe enough for Bhutto had we gone after Al Qaeda. There are many more problems facing the country than just Al Qaeda.

That is what General Clark should have retorted with instead of creating a straw man.
