Obama asks for intelligence briefing after Bhutto assassination (AP)
Can't quarrel with this snippet from the AP --

Obama asks for intelligence briefing after Bhutto assassination
Associated Press - December 27, 2007 6:44 PM ET

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Illinois Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama says he would like intelligence briefings after today's assassination of Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.

Bhutto's death occurred one week before the Iowa caucuses, the first test of the 2008 race for the White House. Candidates from both parties scrambled for political advantage while condemning the attack.

Obama says the war in Iraq has diverted troops and other resources needed to track down al-Qaida terrorists who move between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He says he has asked the Bush administration for the briefs.

26. Strong move? Man, you're easily impressed.
The man wants to be president. He'd better ask to be briefed.

48. Biden talked with our Sec. of State. Stronger move.
He also knew Bhutto personally. He also had called Musharaf and urged him to give Bhutto more security. He also submitted, along with John Kerry and others, a proposal declaring Pakistan a state of emergency which included pressuring Musharaf to give Bhutto more security. Talk is cheap. Biden acts. That's why I support him for president.

2. Translation: He's TRYING to look presidential. This is the same man who hasn't convened a meeting
yet, of the Foreign Relations sub-committee on Europe that he chairs.

And now he wants intelligence briefings?

Politics as usual.

13. What the heck is wrong with you?
Obama asking for intelligence briefings is akin to begging somebody to tell him what's going on...in your little world? That's just stupid.

You're supporting a candidate who doesn't give a fuck what the intelligence says anyway...so we'll consider the source --- http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2007/05/report_clinton_.html

Once the dust settles, I'm confident we'll be working together to make sure a Dem is seated as president in January 2009.

But first...back to the business at hand.

And there have been insults on both sides. Just a fact.

Happy New Year, ClarkUSA.

I wish happiness and success to all. (except the repukes - they can be happy, but they cannot succeed in perverting our nation and its best resources for sickening personal gain - may they be happy in losing)

22. As on another thread, there was a sense of the Senate (which
was sponsored/co-sponsored by all the presidentials and members of the SFRC) to investigate the LAST assassination attempt on Bhutto. It is just so frustrating. Now she's dead and neither Musharraf did anything nor did the Bush admin. pressure him to do anything. Pathetic.
