Hillary Clinton opens up a 13-point lead over Barack Winfrey in latest Iowa polling
Polls results from ARG. The major wires are just beginning to pick this up, but look for it to be lead political story tomorrow.

Polling dates were 12/20-12/23.

Merry Christmas, Hillary!

2. You do realize that polling organization was 20 points off
Edited on Tue Dec-25-07 04:43 PM by calteacherguy
the night before the 2000 N.H. primary, right? You also realize that only 6-10% of Iowans participate in a caucus, right? You understand that many people are gone for the Holidays in Iowa, right?

Merry Christmas and enjoy your poll. :hi:

8. Well, I suppose if you roll the dice you're bound to get lucky at some point.

Any poll taken in Iowa has a good chance of being 10-20 points off, in my opinion. That goes for polls that favor my candidate or those that don't.

30. So when they're off
it's due to malfeasance. When they're right, it's just luck?

I'm sorry, but crappy references to Oprah's endorsement of Obama is stuff I would expect to read in far right wing nut journals and confederate flag waving redneck publications. What are they doing here?

19. Guess all the campaigns are dumbasses then
If you had ever been involved in a campaign you would know all the candidates and the campaign managements are spending this Christmas day going over every poll they can put their hands on.

she seems to have her husband's ability to recover almost miraculously.

Also, "Barack Winfrey" is incredibly stupid.

26. Why assume the OP is a Hillary fan?
Could just as easily be a Kucinich or McCain fan... When someone supports something in an "ineffective" way (as in using the childish "Barack Winfrey" to taunt Obama supporters) they could be doing it out of childishness or because they are against the person they appear to be supporting.

As has been said many times, a bad argument is the enemy of a good cause. Don't forget that anonymous people can take advantage of that.

23. Gee are they calling you names for posting this. I even had the link
and
American Idol Obama candidate supporters were messing themselves. And the funny thing was....the polling company that had Obama ahead a week ago is the same one with these poll results.

Last week they were woo hooing and yah yahing...over the same company now they are saying they are bullshit...typical republican mentality tho, that's exactly what his supporters are.

38. Dick Bennett? HA!
You're citing an ARG poll? This firm is a joke!

* They don't have a boiler room and operate out of a tiny two room suite in downtown Manchester.

* It's a Republican firm. ARG polled for possible GOP gubernatorial candidate Frank Guinta and ex congressman Charlie Bass in last year.

* Bennett's work for Charlie Bass means that he has an axe to grind with Paul Hodes. Hodes defeated Bass and now serves as national co-chair of the Obama campaign.

* It's a pay-for-play operation. In 1990, Bennett took on a Democratic client in a US Senate race, took payment under the table, and released coked numbers to the press without disclosing his financial stake.

* Nobody has ever received a call from an ARG pollster. I know of people being contacted by Suffolk, UNH, Franklin Pierce, RKM, and Chervinsky, but never, ever ARG.

39. These polls are definitely entertaining...but the bottom line is
to get a Democrat in the White House. With the rigged elections, it won't be easy no matter what the will of the votes may be...
