Does Jose Rodriguez, the CIA chief, who wants to be given immunity for his role in destroying the tapes and possibly his role in administering "harsh techniques" to prisoners have any leverage to gain immunity? Does he possibly have something in his possession that has not been made public? Maybe copies or digital copies of those tapes? Maybe additional tapes?
It seems that if he were to be given immunity, he would have to possess positive proof of what his testimony is going to be. Immunity is not granted on a whim but rather granted to those that are guilty but have proof beyond reproach that higher ups are involved in the crimes that are being investigated. Joe Velochi would never have been granted immunity if he did not have dead on proof.
I would hope that many other government employees that want to cover their asses, and have collected hard evidence that is verifiable proof, will come forward and force this compliant and complicit congress to take action in the form of impeachment. I know I am wishing upon a star.
Sooner or later, the truth will come to light. It may be after we are all dead and gone or it might be the middle of next week or during the next administration. No one knows at this time, but when the truth does come to light it will undoubtedly hold that this administration, from the time of inauguration, has set a course to destroy our basic concept of freedom and replace it with a fascist state. They are well under way of doing so at this moment in history.
Please read the Declaration of Independence including the "facts submitted to a candid world" and you will see that this document cannot be more pertinent than it was in 1776. The regime in power now is every bit as committed to stopping democracy as was the realm of King George.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing to assent to laws for establishing Judiciary powers. He has affected to render the military independent ot and superior to civil power. For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury. For transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses. These are only a few of the facts submitted to a candid world in 1776.
Put these crimes with the flagrant violations of The Constitution of The United States and you have undeniable impeachable offenses by this administration. Yet the Congress fails to act upon this mountain of evidence against this administration. Congress even vilifies those within its ranks that attempt to do their sworn duty to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign AND DOMESTIC. Why is that? Are they naive or are they complicit with this administration? This includes many of the candidates for president. If they are naive, they must be replaced and if they are complicit they must bear the consequences of their complicity.
