Obama says "Everybody talks change,
but how did they act when it was not convenient, when it's hard."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22370988

If you're Obama, you miss the votes. Or get a tummy flu. Or vote Present 130 times. Or join in co-sponsorship with many of your Dem colleagues -- including one of your opponents -- of a Resolution that in more ways than not mirrors the language of a future Resolution (a vote you, um, missed) that you now try and beat your opponent -- the one you co-sponsored the earlier Resolution with -- around the head with.

Confused yet? Welcome to Barack Obama's World of Political Courage.

6. it's only an "ugly thread"
if you're a super-sensitive candidate (or supporter) who's uncomfortable with a history of missed votes, Present votes and talking the talk but not walking the walk.

And it's not like the repuglicans will ever bring this issue up or anything should he be the Nominee, right?

Better come up with a better response than

Why don't you talk about Hillary's neocon war votes or her support for NAFTA or her votes for the Patriot Act, instead?
Now that's something you should be proud of, right?

13. Hillary's Neocon Votes
oddly ape those of Obama since he's been in the Senate. Of course, he's only been there the briefest of times, but he votes lockstep with Clinton -- that is when he shows up to do his job -- on the Iraq War almost every time.

Those damn facts will get you every damn time, won't they? Don't worry, though. I'm sure the repuglicans will be nice, recognize Obama's sensitivity on this issue and just not bring it up if your guy is the Nominee.

10. No Candidate is going to change one thing about the Culture
Wars.

Which candidate is going to shut down OReilly, Rush Limbaugh,Sean Hannity
and the whole world RW Talkers? Hey, these people are making
a living such as I could only dream about. They are not going
quietly into the night.

Which candidate is going to shut down the ProLifers and Pro Choicers.

Which candidate is going to shut down NRA and its minions?

Which candidate is going to shut down GLBT and Anti-Gay Groups???

These are fights that will continue.

We are not a country of mamby pamby go along to get along. The
dynamism is good for the country.

What divided the country was GWB and the Republicans taking the
government so far to the Right in governance. We have not seen
the center in years. A change of Presidents and some Liberal Progressive
Members in House and Senate would make the change and bring more
unity than anything. The War Brought the Division and Which Candidate
is really going to change things. The Present Members on the Hill
keep prolonging and authorizing an unending war. Which candidate
can negotiate a settlement between Centrist, Blue Dogs,Dlc Versus
Progressive/Liberals??? Here is the big Challenge. The American
People, Republicans and Democrats are sick of the money being spent
on the war, and the money being sent to all parts of the world
while we cannot take care of our people here at home. Which candidate
will adress this?????
\
When they talk about change--I do not even believe they know what
they can realistically change and what needs to be changed??

The cultural issues will become background noise if they solve
the real problems. DO they even know what needs to be changed????

Are you aware that such a vote has the practical equivalent of voting "no." Are you aware many progressive organizations support such a strategy? Are you aware of the reasons for the present votes? Are you aware that ALL Illinios state representatives have voted present? Are you aware that there is nothing negative about doing so? Are you aware of anything?

64. That's hillarious how Obama can accuse Edwards, or ANYONE, of hypocrisy
when he has proven time and time again to be the most hypocritical of all the candidates.

Case in point: Obama being the one to make false claims of being the only true anti-war candidate and then turning around to vote YES to each and every bill to fund the war to go on. He is no more anti-war than any of them, hypocrite that he is.

66. I'm waiting for disaster in 2008 with the Clinton or Obama
both firmly planted in the Beltway acceptance of the rights of corporations, no questions asked.
