N.H. poll has Kerry and Edwards trouncing Bush
http://www.thechamplainchannel.com/wnne/2858932/detail.html

Remember, that's a state Bush narrowly won in 2000. Today, it's not even close: Kerry beats Bush by 15 points and Edwards beats him by 14.

Plus, his approval rating is down to 47 percent. Yikes.

2. NH, AR and WV for starters
should be Democratic leaners, with TN, KY, MO, OH, GA, IN, LA, and FL close behind. Never again.

4. If Wes Clark is on the ticket
would that make any difference in Arkansas?

How is he perceived in his home state?

9. Well, in Little Rock I've seen 15 or 20 Clark bumper stickers.
Unlike Clinton, Clark doesn't really have a history here.

What is Shrub's approval rating in Arkansas, BTW?

Arkansas is historically Democratic, and Bush's approval rating - at least as of October (the last poll I could find, before his recent big slump) had him at 47% approval, with 46% negs. That's pretty damn low. Pryor, Pryor's Daddy, Lincoln and Berry will campaign hard for Kerry. Snyder and Ross look to be less helpful. But still AR is a heavily Democratic state, and the alternative is a candidate from Texas.

Texans aren't too popular across the line. In addition, the economy has struggled and the immigration issue seems enormously unpopular in the state.

12. Yes, you are right. Arkansas has a long history of voting for
Massachusetts democrats and reagan twice, bush1/bush2, nixon twice. Clinton high mark was 54%.

6. I think we have a real shot at N.H., Ohio, W.Va. and Nev.
all states won by Bush. There may be others.

11. Nader spoiled NH for the Democrats in 2000.
Forget FL and Jeb's delivery of the state to his brother. NH was ours without Nader. With NH, we win and FL is just an ugly blot on the integrity of Republican electoral politics.

One of the ways in which elected representatives are curbed and controlled is through a never-ending process of phoney elections. They are called opinion polls. Presented as an expression of the popular will and thus an expression of democracy itself, they serve the opposite purpose. They are a method of control.
