Cynthia McKinney is running for the Green Party nomination for President. In this news segment, there is video of her trying to tell the media what they can and cannot cover.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IE6ufDzUTa4

The Green Party primary has not run its course yet, but time will tell whether or not its members support the policy of elected officials dictating to the media what they can cover or not.

On edit: Start at 1:11 to catch the media control story.

2. Not saying it should be McKinney that dictates what the media covers...
But someone sure as hell needs to dictate to them, cause they cover pure shit as far as I am concerned.

3. At least she'll stand up to the media
She's a progressive's progressive, a sister that knows right from wrong and isn't afraid to say so.

She's also a little tired of the constant racist and sexist actions of the media toward her and all of the other sisters.

6. so what?
Now aside from your Nader obsession, looks like you're going to be obsessing about McKinney. Neither of them are pertinant to the election next year.

7. Why worry about who the Greens are running, anyway?
OK, McKinney will get the votes of some former Democrats. So?

The Disgruntled Dems have already left the party and they're not coming back. Not so sure the party wants them back. So I don't see a problem with these folks finding another candidate to support. Why worry?

10. "Not so sure the party wants them back."
The "leadership" and at least two of the top candidates seem more interested in pandering to the far right than attracting Greens, independents and non-voters.

11. Please rethink your statement. 39% of all voters are indies
As opposed to 33% of all voters being Dems, and an all time recent low of 28% for Repugs.

If it wasn't for the MSM everyone would be aware that this election could really go to a sleeper.

8. No way
I have supported greens in local elections and consider myself quite left of center but Kucinich is fine for me.
No thanks Cynthia.

12. Cynthia made some strong points while she was in Congress -
she tried to get the Pentagon to account for 2.3 trillion dollars it admitted was "missing"

she called for an INDEPENDENT investigation of 9/11

and

she introduced articles of impeachment against Bush-Cheney et al.

we need more like her on our side instead of letting them slip away.

Why is the green party even entertaining the idea of her nomination.
