Would appreciate it. I can not imagine having to join to contact an author of an article.
I see that his post is saying not to donate to the DNC because it is supposedly interfering in primaries like the DSCC and DCCC. He says not to give money to them either. He has a picture of burning money.
I do believe the DSCC and DCCC interfere in primaries.
HOWEVER...the DNC has openly and often made it clear they do NOT get involved in any primaries. SO why the heck is Rob saying to withhold money from the DNC which will need the money to pay the salaries of the state directors for the 50 state strategy. Dave Lindorff did the same kind of thing, blaming the DNC for what the rest of the party had done. Governor Dean even emailed Lindorff, but he still did not really back off.
I believe people should be honest in what they post. It may be an oversight, but I can not contact them without joining the website.
What The Hell Are Dem Leaders Doing, Blowing Money In Dem PrimariesOk, here are the two paragraphs I think he should edit for honesty.
The public is thoroughly disgusted with this congress, as they should be. Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Hoyer-- these leaders have not failed. Suggesting that they'd failed would indicate belief that they'd tried. No. These Dem leaders have betrayed the voters who gave them the leadership of the congress. They deserve zero support, in terms of providing them with funding or contributions. If you are a progressive, if you are disgusted with the 110 congress's choice to refuse to impeach, refusal to end the war, refusal to revoke the offensive bankruptcy laws... then don't even think about giving money to the DNC, DSCC or DCCC. Give the money to ACT Blue, EMily's list or better, to the progressive candidates who will be facing right wing democrats that the likes of Schumer and Emanuel are funding.
And while you're at it, let the DSCC, DNC and DCCC know that they are way out of line getting involved in democratic primaries. It's bad for the Democratic party, bad for America, bad for Democracy.
Democracy is a process. It requires the respect of those who are its elected representatives. Shame on those who fail to accord it that.
Yes. Rob, it is a shame when the party messes in primaries. It is also a shame when progressive writers are not aware that Chairman Dean's mantra is "The DNC does not get involved in primaries."
And it is shame for you to urge people not to donate to the DNC as elections near, as the candidates are supposed to be using the state structures for their campaigns now.
