Is this a pattern? Rudy drops in polls and suddenly becomes ill

It is pretty much agreed now that Giuiliani's prostate cancer would not have precluded him running against Clinton for the Senate, and was a handy excuse for getting out of a race he was going to lose.

So the combination of "Rudy plummets in polls" and "Rudy hospitalized" is giving me deja vu.

Not fair, of course, but I don't feel a need to be overly fair with the Ghoul.

5. He's a weak person ...
Again, much like the Idiot in Chief, who clearly was not suited to be president on a personal basis, but was propped up by the media, this guy is SO clearly weak willed - I still cannot get over him getting away with that freakin phone call from his wife during the NRA address ... The media SOMEHOW managed to completely smash Howard Dean because of "the scream" which was a genuine show of emotion everyone SAYS they want in candidates, the media just totally hammered him for that ... Rudy is so gall darn pathetic he needs a phone call from his wife to save him from the big bad NRA people ...

6. The flu would make him get out of the race? That's not much of an excuse.
Maybe he's just, you know, sick--like the rest of us get sometimes.

8. Rudy should have been a pro tennis player or a soccer player
Anytime a pro tennis player is being outclassed, you can bet he or she will suddenly "turn an ankle," especially once the guaranteed appearance fee check has cleared. Soccer players, too, often take themselves out of games when the going gets tough. Rudy's no different. As long as everyone was enthralled by Mr. "A noun, a verb and 9/11," kissing his ass, and swooning over his manly manliness, life was good. But as soon as his record starting getting scrutinized, his poll numbers sagged, and he no longer appeared to be all that and a bag of chips, "Erk! Argh! Hospital time!"

Look for Rudy to excuse himself over "health concerns" in the next three weeks or so.

9. I am reminded how Hillary's opponents like to belittle her Senate victories
I've had a couple of duels about this on DU. Yeah she mopped the floor with Lazio the first time she ran for Senate - but the G.O.P. had been hoping to take her down with Rudy who was NYC at the time. They had big money lined up to fund him against Clinton and tons of media, but the polls started looking good for Hillary and next thing you know, Rudy just wasn't up for the race any more.
