Why I like Nader's entry into the race...
He speaks the absolute truth about the corporations, stuff the public needs to hear. Here is an earlier thread subject: "Bush losing big in NH to Kerry 53% to 38% -- 15 points in NH!!" I think we win big with Nader in or out of the race and I want his viewpoint aired. The repubs will give him lots of air time because they think it will hurt the dem nominee. I don't think he will hurt us, but may get a good message out. But I want to frikken kill him when he lies, for example during the 2000 campaign aftermath, he was asked by a pundit about the stock market fall and enron-type thievery and he lumped Clinton in with the legislators who allowed the SEC to aid the beginning of the looting.

2. I heard Nader this morning
and I am afraid that his mind is slipping. He didn't seem to have his facts straight.

He did rail against corporate interests, but he attacked both parties equally.

Duh. and Bush has 1.4 million in the bank as we speak. And Kerry and Edward together have almost nothing in the bank. Spare me.

5. Yes, he does not have a propensity for the truth.
He stated on MTP that Gore would have invaded Iraq despite the fact the Gore was against the war before we invaded.

Once again, Nader has shown that his ego is bigger and more important than the direction our country takes. The damage he does or does not do to the democrats remains to be seen but his rhetoric sure isn't doing us any favors.

3. I like it because it gives me an option I wouldn't have otherwise
Green is nice, but Nader attacks the pigs and that I don't get from the greens. Since I'm in Texas I'll probably be using my vote to send a message to the DNC that I prefer Nader to their 'us too just not as much' candidates. :)

8. Nader in Texas
If Ralph campaigns against shrub only where the Dems can't win, it might actually help. At least it wouldn't hurt so much. Texas of course would be a good place for that as well as other southern states. Personally, I'd like to see him go to rural parts of Utah and Idaho. That would prove the man has real courage.

4. I was also think about this ...
Based on the past few "spoilers", the damage is done to the incumbant (viewing Al Gore as the incumbant).

I think Ralphy boy will provide a place to go for Republicans that don't want to vote for AWOL, but would rather commit suicide than vote for a Democrat.

I also welcome him to the race. The people on the left (who may have voted for Nader in 2000), have a common cause (ABB). They now realize that the only way to accomplish this is to vote Democratic. I don't think they will make the same mistake as 2000.

I think Ralph will help unseat AWOL.

Cheers
Drifter

6. It encourages the democrats to address the issues that are
important to Greens in order to win them to our side.

Plus he makes the Repubs over-confident and we can wipe their giddy smugness right off their faces in November.

And he claims 25% of his votes in 2000 came from Republicans and 38% from Democrats. The rest were Greens and independents.

7. Politics 101
There are three groups: those who will always vote for you; those who never will; and the "undecided." If you think that Nader will pull people from that third group away from Bush, take a closer look! He will only hurt the democratic party. I am far to the left, and believe we need revolutionary changes in America, but it happens one step at a time. Nader is betraying the efforts and sacrifices of people like Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy with this selfish, immature action. His "middle age" crisis could have taken a different path. Thousands of our brothers and sisters who want to change the system know that removing Bush is the first step towards meaningful change. Nader distracts us from that.
