I am having a hard time putting my finger on this one by myself. Gotta believe it is some insurance company trying to deep-six universal health care.

1. Isn't AARP the largest insurance provider or broker in the US or something?

I thought that was why they went for the Medicare drug plan. (sellouts!)

But I could be wrong.

3. they peddle supplemental health insurance and other insurance
my parents employer paid the sup insurance as part of their retirement. i must say between medicare and aarp sup they did`t pay a dime...but the drug coverage was worth a shit.

the board of directors and others in aarp are corporate toadies

6. I believe you're right.
I dropped my membership several years ago because they are a corporate enabler IMO. The CEO is as right wing as they come. I personally know many people who quit because of AARP positions on Social Security, Medicare part B, etc.

7. You're right. And they are in the habit of trying to scare their readership with
boogeyman stories about universal healthcare. I dropped my membership because of the same things. Have a good article somewhere about the true agenda of AARP and will post when I find it.

9. One of their lastest commercials
here in Toledo is touting their soon to be available drug benefit plan from the donut shop. Branching out.
