Since Nader declared that he is a Candidate for President...
Edited on Mon Feb-23-04 10:19 AM by deminflorida
and the standard bearer for the Green Party in the general election. He has declared open war on the Democratic Party and it's efforts to defeat George W. Bush in 2004. Why should Nader supporters be given a platform on this board to express they're support for him. From the rules:

"If you wish to contribute to the defeat of the Democratic candidate for president, then you are welcome to use someone else's bandwidth on some other website. As the election season draws closer, we may expand this rule to include Democratic candidates for other political offices.

Democratic Underground may not be used for political organizing activity by supporters of any political party other than the Democratic party. Supporters of certain other political parties may use Democratic Underground for limited partisan activities in political races where there is no Democratic party candidate."

Trying to sell your justification for voting on a third party progressive ticket is paramount to organizing opposition to the Democratic Party Candidate.

1. I don't agree 100% with John Kerry on the issues.
But then I don't agree with Ralph Nader 100% on the issues either.

So I encourage everybody who disagrees with them to vote for me, Mobuto, as I agree with myself on 100% of the issues. This is surely the way to beat Bush in 2004.

7. There's a difference between dissent and not voting for the Democratic
This is the Democratic Underground. Read the rule. The owner of their web site controls this board and puts in their time into creating this site for other Democrats. If someone comes onto this board for Nader, it is no different then someone who comes on this site for Bush. I don't believe the argument that Nader is as evil as Bush, not by a long shot. This is Skinner's vision though and if you don't like the rules, then don't talk about how you are going to vote for Nader, or go elsewhere. This isn't censorship, you are damn well pleased to talk about whatever the hell you want elsewhere. The rule is in place so that Democrats can enjoy talking with other Democrats without the interruption of outsiders.

5. Gee
and I thought those worthless "fringe leftists" didn't matter.

Oh, and by the way, unless you're an administrator of this site, you have no right to decide who gets banned and who stays.

Maybe you could spend your time doing something constructive, like, say, I don't know, finding a way to convince Nader supporters to vote Democratic without calling them assholes who need to be banned.

You just did that.....

But, they do not have any right to support or organize opposition to the Democratic Candidate here.

They can talk about Nader or discuss his impact on the race but they have no right to promote him or justify why they are voting for him in this forum.

9. He's not running as a Green, though. He's running as "Simply...Nader."
So it's even worse than you're saying.
