Edwards leads in new poll. (Iowa)

Edwards takes lead in InsiderAdvantage Iowa poll
By Tom Baxter
Southern Political Report

December 18, 2007 —

John Edwards has leapfrogged over his rivals Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and leads the Democratic field in Iowa, according to the latest InsiderAdvantage/Majority Opinion poll. The race among the three top Democrats is extremely close, with the potential for any of them to finish first – or third.

Edwards leads with 30 percent in a poll of Democratic voters who said they intend to participate in the Jan. 3 presidential caucuses, followed by Clinton with 26 percent and Obama with 24 percent. When the sample was narrowed to the most likely caucus-goers, based on several questions, Obama leads Edwards by less than a percentage point with 27 percent, with Clinton in third place at 24 percent.

1. Polling Shmolling...
It's all within the MOE, which basically confirms what we already know... Iowa is going to come down to the wire, and organization and getting supporters to the caucus is going to make all the difference.

I can't wait.

2. Yup, while Obama and Hillary have been feuding, Edwards has been promoting himself
I've gotta admit, Edwards played the other two like suckers. He got the attack wars going on Hillary. Then Obama got jealous of how effective it was working for Edwards, so he listened to the media and started attacking Hillary like a 4th grader straight from a schoolyard playground. Then while he and Hillary forgot about everything but their feud, Edwards sneaked right on by. Gotta give Edwards credit. I'll bet he's good at chess.

3. Or maybe, that poll, like a few others, is an outlier - detached from reality.
Better wait a few days for some corroborating evidence......

good, bad and otherwise, recycle
