More like a deal breaker for many (most? - God, I hope so) Democrats. Bill is really losing it. What was he thinking?

1. You missed the point all together..........
The next President must be one of the people, all the people including the republicans, neocons, greens, libertarian, progressive far left and so on. The largest group is that of the republican collective.......

That said, now their point was that Hillary will work with all the people, including republicans to strive for harmony. That takes talent that I can depend on finding with Hillary Clinton as our next President.

2. Besides, Ma'am
The elder Bush will not co-operate in the 'proposal', and no one seriously expected he would. Magnanimous gestures you can expect to be spurned are the best of all possible worlds: nothing beats making yourself look large and your enemy even smaller.

Perhaps you could clarify if you are actually accusing me of taking direction from a nationally prominent pollster?

People do on occasion have their own perceptions of events, and state them in an open forum of their own volition, you know....

19. It Never Struck Me As A 'Foot In The Mouth' Moment, Ma'am
It is the usual sort of flexible line skilled people employ. On one level, it is a play towards the middle of the road voters, who seem to want everyone to play nice with one another, and on the other level, the sort of one-upsmanship described above. Very far from a blunder, in my view, Ma'am.

3. Well, too bad that 41 missed the point too.
Since he says it's not called for and he has no interest in doing this apology tour for his son with Bill.

It's just a total embarrassment for Hillary. She either has to say that Hubby did not know whereof he spoke - which seems evident- or she just has to stay quiet and hope it blows over.

A no win either way for her.

As for me, I have no need to hitch my wagon to those who double-yoke with the Bushes. No further explanation neccessary for anyone who has followed politics/war/bad stuff for the last twenty years.

30. Well, we CAN exclude them, or at least we can TRY - until all the committees have concluded their
investigations, and all the subpoenas have been answered, and all the testimony given,
and all the requested documents have been turned over, and all the answers have been
given, under oath, and explained ad infinitum, and all the liberties and rights that have been
stolen and usurped are returned to the patient and good people of this country who have
watched, with their harrowing cries unheard, as the Constitution has been mocked, maligned,
dissected and desecrated and almost shredded under the rancid Republican reign.

Get the gist?

If you think "bipartisanship" with the Bush Crime Family is possible, I suggest you do some heavy research. These people are NOT your friends. And if they are Hillary's friends, then maybe you should ask why THAT is the case?

23. You're wrong.
The "largest collective" is Independents, which make up about 40% of the population.

Funny how when Obama was talking about unity and working in a bipartisan manner to get things done on Capitol Hill, Hillaryworlders disparaged him as naive
and unrealistic but now Hillary is wonderful for "including republicans to strive for harmony." Hmmm..... :eyes:

38. I think YOU missed the point:
Reach out to Republicans,
Pull back a nub.

I hope this little episode of Bill's public humiliation by 41 will teach her a lesson.

NOW is NOT the time to be working with Republicans.
NOW is the time to bring this country back to a democracy OF, BY and FOR the People by driving a stake through the black, greedy heart of Compassionate Conservatism (and NeoLiberalism for that matter.)

I am NOT interested in stabilizing things where they are currently.
LABOR, Working Class Rights, Environment, Social Programs, Defense Cuts, re-regulation of Corporations, moratorium and roll back of the privatizing of the Commons,...ALL need to be moved back to a position of Democratic Party values, and THAT will never happen by "reaching across the aisle in a spirit of healing."
AFTER the Working Class has regained the losses suffered since Reagan, I will think about "working with republicans", but NOT before.

Those bastards won't give up a thing without a FIGHT.
I guess you can tell that Hillary is not "my girl".

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

The Clintons' relationship with the Bush Crime Family really should make people think twice about supporting the Senator.

No -- Those fuckers have run this country into the ground. It is time to let progressives govern. The Republicans can go f@#$ themselves. They have had their chance, and they blew it -- Big Time. It will take years and years to undo the damage they have done. I feel ZERO need for appeasement of the rightwing.

But, of course, the Joe Lieberman-Hillary Clinton DLCers just loooooove that triangulation and bipartisanship. :eyes:
