Democratic candidate Joe Biden may surprise them all

Democratic Senator Joe Biden is well-liked, and has an ease onstage when answering tough questions.

His political rivals have often praised the Senator for his insight and experience.

So now, the Iowa and New Hampshire caucuses are coming down to the wire; will the plain-spoken Biden fare well in the final votes?

In nearly every debate, newspapers such as The Washington Post, the Des Moines Register noted Joe Biden as a "winner" in his overall performance.

I'd be thrilled if Biden did well. OTOH, I find Obama very troubling.

4. Why do so few people support him? i would think it was...
just being outside of the MSM's top 3, but even Richardson does better in the polls than Biden. ?? why?

15. Biden wasn't physically in Iowa early on.
One plus for that timing is that we are burned out with the top 3 and all the bickering. Biden is running double-time to catch up and I'm hoping he grabs ahold of the kite tail and gets a ride, because he's primarily a new kid on the block because of less exposure early on.

The top 3 started way too early.

16. Richardson should be getting more coverage.
Senators do not win Presidential elections. And the whore media knows that as well as I do. So does the DLC.

So why are we getting 2 senators and a former senator thrown in front of the spotlight, and the sudden push (at least here) for yet another senator.

So Biden has 35 years in the Senate?? What does that mean?

It means that during his entire time on the Hill, he's never seen one of his colleagues become President. And history says it won't be him either. Or Obama. Or Edwards. And damn sure not Hillary. And with Romney and Huckleberry, two governors, currently heading up the Repuke front line, the situation is even more bleak.

And if you think Mittens and Mikey being religious wackos is going to keep them out of office, it didn't stop Ronald Reagan, who came into office with the full endorsement of the then-newly created religious reich. And it didn't stop Chimpy, who literally claims that GOD told him to bomb the shit out of two countries.

Dennis is my candidate on the issues, and he's who gets my support at the caucus. But Richardson is looking better all the time. He has the resume, and he has the executive experience.

This would all have been so much easier if Al Gore hadn't passed on this round. :evilfrown:

5. I think if he received the coverage of The Three, if more people across America
weren't told 'he doesn't have a chance' and if his stances and approaches were contrasted one by one with the other candidates, it would be a surprise if he DIDN'T receive the nom.

18. They are pretty consistant
with Biden's numbers, give or take a few points. If there were just one poll that showed something different.

I'd love to see an upset and if Biden won it would be more of an upset than Kerry's defeat of Dean in 2000. But even Kerry wasn't 2O points behind Dean this close to the primaries if I remember correctly.

21. Yesterday
I had the privilege of sitting in on a small town meeting with him yesterday.

When the topic of religion came up......He was precise in his statement.....He said "This is not a religious country...This is a spiritual country." He said this with absolute authority.

I found that to be a profound statement. Maybe he has said that before, but I was completely caught off guard. I will never forget that.

33. That's interesting
I've heard some hardcore republicans say the only Dem they'd consider is Biden, which I find rather strange, as Biden is considered quite liberal and doesn't flaunt his religion.

I wish I could understand how these people think, but guess It is better that I don't.

is found in our "second tier".

I like Biden. I trust his ability, particularly on foreign policy issues, where frankly, the front-runner are weak on expertise.
