Air of inevitability escaping Clinton
Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 10:45 PM by ClarkUSA
The large crowds that once came to see her have thinned. Trusted campaign surrogates have veered wildly off message. And a
campaign operation that had built seemingly impregnable leads over the summer appears to be faltering, prompting former President
Clinton to amp up his role as a public spokesman and campaign advisor.

Clinton’s chief rival, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, has wiped out her lead in the crucial early states of Iowa and New Hampshire, according
to some polls. Should she lose those contests, gone would be the notion that she is the party’s inevitable nominee — one basis of her
appeal as a candidate.

Former Democratic Sen. Bob Kerrey of Nebraska plans to publicly endorse Clinton next week. But, he says, the momentum may belong to
Obama. Kerrey spoke about the “phenomenal pride” black voters felt when Obama made joint appearances last weekend with media titan
Oprah Winfrey.

Obama, Kerrey said in an interview, has “either peaked, or he is on a trend line that is going to make him the nominee of the party.”

I'm sure Hillaryworld would like Kerrey to STFU. :-)

1. "inevitability" a media construct--never a Clinton construct
this post is a bigfatlie.

But, hey: she does deserve congrats for the endorsement she received from the Des Moines Register.

5. What BS... that's the strategy Mark Penn laid out from the beginning, according to more than report
And Hillary herself said in her Katie Couric interview that she never considered losing or that another candidate would be the nominee.

That's her declaring herself inevitable.

But I know you'll never admit it.

As for the Des Moines Register endorsement, all I can say is Bill and Hillary's wining and dining of the editors paid off. Politics as usual
works for DMR honchas, I guess.

6. They all say that. Remember what obama said?
He said he would get advice when he is president from Clinton: and you all laughed rather than be outraged that he DARE to suggest that he is inevitable?

8. No, they didn't all say that... provide proof or I'll call your perpetual BS
Obama never said he never thought that anyone else could be the nominee but himself and David Axelrod certainly never ran the campaign as
a "re-election" as some news reports have said in the past week.

But don't let me stop you -- Clintonian apologists/swift boaters never let facts get in the way of their attacks.

Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 11:28 PM by ClarkUSA
According to the FEC reports, that's true. Of course, in Hillaryworld, facts don't matter when insinuating sly innuendo as in your "bride" snark above thread.

And yet Clinton is constantly getting blamed for votes and stands that are no different than the other candidates.

Nor do they accept money from PACs.

Check with the FEC and then get back to me with more "proof" than that.

I think it's amusing that your "point" is a link that leads to a brief hair-splitting blurb that ultimately proves my point that Obama does not receive a dime
from DC lobbyists and Big Business PACs. ;-)

Still no FEC reports that "prove" Obama and Edwards are raking in DC lobbyist and PAC $$$ like Hillary? Don't worry, that's because there ISN'T anything
that proves it because it's NOT true.

Tuff Titty.

Obama and Edwards are lying when they say they take no lobbyist money.

Or hasn't 7 years of fact jiggering been enough for you?

Obama and Edwards deny they take lobbyist money by splitting hairs.

Get it straight.

The article I linked to explains why your claim is false.
In fact --it explains it quite well.

So I'll link to it twice.

Link all you want... I've read the silly little piece by Mark Penn's stenographer at the Post and it admits that neither man has taken a dime of
federal lobbyist money or a dime from registered lobbyists in DC. Nor have they taken any PAC money. All of that ill-gotten gain has gone
to your girl, DLC Queen Hillary.

Unless they are Clinton Kool-Aide drinkers, of course. That goes without saying.

I have to say, though -- kudos to Mark Penn for getting all his talking points to the reporter.

Who needs HillaryHub or Taylor Marsh or The Left Coaster or Daily Howler or HillaryIs44, really?

7. Hillary's nationwide lead increase from 28 points over Obama to 30 over last month - seems
to be a lot of noise over the plans of GOP "independents" to not vote for her in caucus and
NH primary where GOP "independents" can vote in Democratic Party process.

Sorry to interrupt your cherrypicking but see the whole facts here:

So, tell me, how's her trendline in Iowa, NH, SC, and NV, hmm? In a word, downward.

31. most recent ABCNews/WashPost Poll. Dec. 6-9 is 30 points with "likely voters"
Edited on Sun Dec-16-07 02:10 PM by papau
American Research Group poll. Dec. 9-12, 2007 is 19 points - but nothing to compare it to as it is their first in several months.

trends are within the same org on the 28 going to 30.

polls with smaller margins are those that let in "independents" 0 such as the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll. Dec. 6-9, 2007 of registered voters (not "likely" as in ABCA Poll) nationwide who are Democrats or independents who lean to the Democratic Party.

It doesn't work when the situation turns on you and people really start looking at what you say.
