Bill Clinton in 1992: We Need New Experience in Washington
"You know, my wife Hillary gave me a book, and it says in there that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."

Sounds like this guy would be a strong candidate in 2008.

3. Uh-oh, I heard the "h" word
Edited on Fri Dec-14-07 11:16 PM by BeyondGeography
He still believed in a place called Hope...now Hilly sneers at it:

==“Everyone wants change. Well, everybody on this stage has an idea on how to get change. Some believe you get change by demanding it, some believe you get it by hoping for it,” Clinton said. “I believe you get it by working hard for change..."==

The more you look at them, the more you realize their time has passed.

2. And we live in the same world as back then? I think not.
And with new threats, I'd like new capabilities in our leader. My candidate served her first term in the Senate, gaining valuable personal experience. She demonstrated that she can work well with others in leadership positions and gained her colleagues' respect.

For generations of women, HRC is the strongest candidate to bring our gender's perspective to the White House. Even in 1992, that was just a whimsical notion.

4. how exactly is she "bringing our gender's perspective to the whitehouse"????
Edited on Fri Dec-14-07 11:37 PM by loveangelc
And what exactly IS the female perspective? Was her voting for the Iraq war resolution our gender's perspective? It wasn't mine. And what new threats are we facing today that we didn't face at all in 1992? Terrorists? I may not be old enough to remember but I'm sure terrorists were existing in 1992.

13. If you think the genders are equivalent, I suggest a biology course
The Iraq war resolution specified that UN inspectors should complete their work. The administration, then as now, acted lawlessly but a GOP controlled Congress acquiesced. This is history ... read the legislation yourself.

The new threat we face is a smaller world where airplanes are used as weapons. In a city like mine, the threat is nothing new ... the WTC was bombed a decade earlier. But when the White House and Pentagon become part of a deadly day, I think even liberals should sit up and take notice.

It's not a war on terrorism ... it's modernity itself that needs acknowledgment and management. We did a decent job in the 90's, though I bitterly disagree with some of the policies and intent to appeal to a sympathetic administration.

This is a female perspective: Long term, involving others and building on relationships. Beats competition and primal displays of aggression anytime, IMNSHO.

5. Wow, just taking a page out of the republican play book...
Please don't come in here and cite "new threats" as a reason to pick a poor candidate. We tried that once.

9. we tried it more than once
who will be the sacrificial lamb of 2008? the left has helped the pukes in the last two elections, via Raphie or the greens.

Sacrificing the good for the perfect is getting pretty old. Can anyone say 'president Romney'?

11. I lived in NYC 9/11, 2001. I'll remind you of that fact whenever required
As for poor candidates, you don't specify where HRC is wrong ... I see your hostility, but no reason.

We could exchange insults, or communicate with each other respectfully.

15. If we don't live in the same world as back then, Hillary's "experience" means NOTHING...
We don't need the strongest woman candidate. We need the strongest candidate. The one with the best judgement and attitude towards us and the rest of the world. That ain't Hillary.

19. Humans use experience to adapt to new situations. And females
possess undeniably different qualities - the kind we could use right now.

ad hominum attacks rather than reasoned debate. A very convincing argument for your candidate and your position, NOT.

edit: actually this is a reply to post 6 not 7. I agree with post 7.
