This forum is fast becoming the most hilarious thing ever
Edited on Sun Feb-22-04 08:03 PM by jpgray
Folks still want to defend the shameless hypocrite Nader, despite having a true leftist hero on the Democratic primary ballot in Dennis Kucinich. Defending a man who has profited from Raytheon, General Dynamics, Boeing, Wal-Mart and Halliburton stock as some kind of anti-corporate hero is about the silliest thing I've ever witnessed.

Folks only have a harsh litmus test concerning the major issues when a rival candidate is discussed. For their own favorite, they are willing to contort themselves into knots trying to rationalize their candidate's own blatant hypocrisy and failures on the major issues. From Nader to Lieberman, this is true for everybody. Even Dennis has the flag issue. We're all compromising.

80% of the threads on either ABB or on "I will vote third party" are thinly disguised vanity threads that have little or nothing to do with politics and everything to do with ego.

And finally, that a voting block whose rallying cry is "I refuse to ever compromise" expects to be pandered to in a national election is just stupefying to me. This group can be wholly ignored by both major parties because they will not vote for either no matter who the candidate is or what he/she says. This group can be fleeced by vultures such as Nader, who has gleefully deposited their dollars in such defense monsters as Boeing, Halliburton and General Dynamics, or slave-labor profiteers Gap, the Limited and Wal-Mart.

If you have real liberal values, you have Dennis Kucinich in the primary. VOTE for the guy! Kucinich has held onto liberal ideals by his actions as well as his words, and he has held onto them while in political office. Nader cannot even lay claim to the former, being a shameless hypocrite without ever once holding elected office.

edit: The "Non-X DUers" threads are the piece de resistance in this case. Blech. :(

1. Allowing the Nader supporters to dictate the direction of the Dem.
party is comparable to giving the Christian right control of the Republican party.

I had to take a look in here and I knew there would be tons of Nader threads. Also, at least there are a few disgruntled Dean supporters still going after Kerry in some threads, lol, some things never change.

But I agree, it is strange that people would support Nader when Kucinich trumps him on just about every issue when talking about liberal ideals.

8. Kucinich has done better in the primaries than Nader could in the general
but yet DK is unelectable? Someone has yet to explain that to me.
