Republimussen Poll- Obama- 43 Giuliani 43/ Obama 45 Romney 41

The other day I criticized Scotty Rasussen for having a Republican bias and got lambasted for it... Here's how Obama does against both those gentlemen (sic) in aggregate polling...He does much better, ergo:

1. Didn't like the poll, I take it.
Well, everyone who doesn't agree with you is just WRONG! So there.

3. And check out Junior's job approval ratings.
You will find that Rasmussen gives Junior higher approval ratings than any other poll, with rare exceptions.

4. Sometimes Statistical Biases Are Intentional And Sometimes They Aren't
He did do a nice job in 04 and 06 on his final pre-election polls... But that's a different matter...If he's wrong then, he discredits himself because his polls can be matched to and then judged by the final results... In a poll this far out there are no hard results to mach it to...

9. But there will be no final results to confirm or refute Junior's approval ratings.

After all, he's not running for office again. And in any case, as you pointed out, this sanity check only works on the last polls right before an election.

Regardless, it's valid to compare polls. It is possible that Rasmussen is right in this case while all other polls are usually wrong. But the odds are against it. I make not judgement of bias, intentional or not. I have simply cited a clear trend and prefer to pretty much let it go at that.

6. But look at his favorables relative to the Repugs...
Of the three candidates, Senator Obama currently enjoys the highest favorables. He is favorably viewed by 48%, unfavorably by 47%. Giuliani is favorably viewed by 44%, unfavorably by 51%. Romney is at 42% favorable, 48% unfavorable.

Not bad, considering any alleged Ras bias.

8. I Don't Trust Him

Do you remember his Portrait Of America Poll in 00 that showed Bush beating Gore by nine percent on Election Eve 00 ?... He was off by ten percent...That's the worst polling since pollsters showed Dewey beating Truman... What was ironic is that wingers used to tout it during the 00 election season...

Gallup had it 48-46 for Bush* but at least they were in the MOE... Zogby and CBS called it for Gore in the pop vote ...

Gore did close great...Too bad about the clusterfuck in Florida...

7. I Suspect He Pushes Undecideds To Choose Between Favorable And Unfavorable
Here:

Obama has a thirteen point lead over Romney in aggregate polling... Thirteen is a lot more than four...

10. Big 3 unfavs are fairly high in Ras compared to other polls.

But I think he did a good job in 2004 & 2006 with his election polls.

We'll just have to wait and see.
