This is what the likes of McClurkin leads to
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon07/12/121307killer.htm

Murray noted in a posting that the Church forgave Haggard then wrote, "I want to know where was all the love, mercy and compassion for my supposed imperfections?"

The first shootings Sunday took place at a dormitory at the Youth With a Mission center in the Denver suburb of Arvada. Four people were shot, two fatally.

Police said the gunfire there started when Murray who had attended a Christmas Party at the center was told shortly after midnight he could not spend the night in the dorm.

Murray had studied but was dropped from the Mission several years ago. A spokesperson said only that it was because of "issues related to his health."

Evangelical Christians often see homosexuality is both a sin and an illness.

Youth With a Mission has been involved with the so-called ex-gay movement. It was one of a number of conservative Christian youth groups brought together by Exodus International, said to be the largest "ex-gay" organization in the country, in May to "to spread a counter-cultural message of truth regarding the challenges facing America's youth today."

end of quote

Murray was the shooter in the church shootings on Sunday. This is the ultimate end of the poison spread by the likes of McClurkin. Murray is the ultimate ex-gay. It doesn't get plainer, nor simpler, than that.

4. One of my sons' wives had a sister who
was a lesbian. She fell in with some fundies who convinced her she was a sinner but could be forgiven if she went straight. To make a long story short, she shot herself in the head on the eve of her wedding to a man.

I hate fundies with a passion. They ruin lives, and I'm not just talking about my DIL's sister's.

11. Thanks. It's been awful for the whole family, and
to make matters worse, her kid brother shot and killed himself too, because he missed her so much. No one noticed how gravely he'd been affected by her death because we were all too busy grieving for her.

I am not a confrontational type of person, but fundies and their anti-gay rhetoric sets me off but good.

15. But for a couple of really great people
I would have killed myself too. I know what it is like to be that desperate. I honestly can't imagine the pain of being left behind though.

16. It's deplorable the way they work
Edited on Thu Dec-13-07 07:47 PM by BuffyTheFundieSlayer
"Repress what you truly are and Jesus will love you."

Then the person sees nothing ahead of them but a life devoid of love, or as in your sister's case, a relationship with someone they cannot possibly love or want. That's what the "ex-gay" movement does to people, and "ex-gays" are nothing more than repressed homosexuals for Jesus. It's psycho-spiritual abuse that should be outlawed.

I am so sorry for what your sister went through. It never should have happened.

5. Or Pastor Darrell Jackson or
Pastor Harold Mayberry or Bishop Eddie Long...

how come McClurkin is the only one on the planet responsible for that shooting.

That is as low as the Clinton people dragging up drug dealing.

I admit, I have no clue, none. I couldn't tell you Edwards SC cochair. I couldn't name Richardson's Iowa cochair. In point of fact, until yesterday I couldn't have told you Clinton's NH cochair.

17. Hey, nobody knows McClurkin either
Except the exact same people who know who Harold Mayberry and Eddie Long are, who support Hillary Clinton. And I'm sure the people in South Carolina know who Darrell Jackson and Linda Short and John Matthews, especially gay people who have been discriminated against in the state constitution.

And if you don't give a shit about any of that, then you don't really give a shit about Donny McClurkin.

I notice you shut up pretty quick with your Imus thread the other day too. You either care about ALL bigots, or you don't really care about ANY of them.

26. The same people who know Eddie Long and Harold Mayberry
who support Hillary. That's what I said. When I see 1000 threads condemning them, and the two co-chairs who put discrimination into the SC Constitution, then I'll believe your outrage over McClurkin.

Trying to slime Obama with this murder is disgusting. I didn't think any DUer would stoop so low.

9. I didn't see the word "responsibility in the original post...it was your
knee-jerk reaction to your saint that saw that. He said "the likes of McClurkin"...pointing out these types who campaign to change gays (yes, McClurkin is one, sad, pathetic, self-hating gay that he is)can really ruin lives.

23. If I was going to blame any "famous" so-called "ex" gay for this, it would be Ted Haggard
Not McClurkin.

I'm sure that those in this church who rejected Murray based on his orientation did so by throwing good ol' Pastor Ted in his face, telling him that "Jesus cured him, so He can cure you too".

Never mind that they told Pastor Ted to hit the road, whether or not he was "cured" of homosexuality, which obviously means they don't have a lot of faith in that "cure", when it comes right down to it.

And yes, I do know what it's like to be so deep in darkness that I want to kill myself, or others. Sexual orientation wasn't a contributing factor in my case, but that doesn't change the depth of the pain and darkness itself.

Rather than connect this to McCloset, and by extention, Obama, I'd rather kick the living shit out of those directly responsible, which would be the hypocrites running this church, and most likely Murray's family.
