An article for Dean supporters
**Note this comes from the Chicago Sun-Times

There is much to study in the rise and fall of Howard Dean's presidential campaign. A chapter in that story is the attack against the former Vermont governor bankrolled by a small group of anti-Dean Democrats, led by Democratic fund-raiser David Jones.

Anti-Dean television spots by Jones' group ran from Dec. 5 to Dec. 19, a fateful period that could mark the beginning of Dean's downfall. Dean, once the front-runner deemed all but impossible to beat, quit the race on Wednesday having not won a single state.

The 18 individuals, two corporations and six unions Jones persuaded to donate to his Americans for Jobs, Healthcare and Progressive Values fund helped knocked Dean out of contention.

"Clearly did," concurred Dean media adviser Steve McMahon when we talked. He likened Jones' handiwork to "drive-by shootings."

Reading the article makes me wonder who the next target is.

7. Dem machinery,
I think is why so many of us are so angry.

Ever just for a minute wish someone nasty got what they deserved and then regretted even thinking it because of the broader implications? That's what I do everytime I see things like this.

3. Thanks, DS. I've read that one, and it provides a very
informative view of that whole situation. That, above all else, got the real anti-Dean effort rolling.

4. I thought I'd post it because
it looks like the Nader announcement has drowned out the troubles we have within the Party already.*sigh*

Once again with the "Look over there....waaaayyyy over there", only this time it's from our own side.

9. it's "disenfranchised"-----yes, we are totally disenfranchised
by our own party in taking down one of our candidates through a 527.

10. Gephardt, Lieberman and Clark got theirs
for their part in this. Unfortunately, I think Kerry will too. Edwards, probably wasn't part of it, but I don't see how he'll get past Kerry, since the DLC has their hand picked man.

11. And THAT, my friend,
is exactly why I really want to see Kucinich's election reforms implemented. (not a plug for you to vote for Kucinich!) Have a look at them if you haven't already.

I know one Kerry supporter mentioned not wanting IRV and I've read some of the supposed problems with it. There are similar methods to achieve similar but better results, and the Dem. Party ought to be talking about them. Instead THIS is the kind of BS they're up to.
