1. If you like Nader's issues, you'll vote Democratic.
Therefore they consciously or unconsciously want Bush to win.

3. If only that were true.
I'd agree with that if Dean was the nominee. Kerry or Edwards? I do not agree.

6. Perhaps
But Dean was closer to Nader's stance on returning democracy to America, which is Nader'd big issue.

7. his corporate interests seem to tell a different tale.....
Edited on Sun Feb-22-04 04:58 PM by jus_the_facts
...yet Edwards fought against corporate inerests his entire career as a lawyer...that is the more liberal in my perception....

on edit.....Nader wants desperately to be the spoiler again it appears...the fix is already in though with the voting machines...or the SCOTUS is always there if that doesn't get it done...

8. Hopefully he will not do as "well" this time, but if he is able
To push some of the issues that Dean raised so effectively---and which were dismissed out of hand by too many in the DNC as well as on DU--he might actually be able to do some damage.

9. But that does not mean voting for Nader is a good thing.
He is still a spoiler. I have an ex wife who has always voted for Nader. Its just anotther thing not to talk about. I see it as fidelity to a lost cause.

10. People who vote for Nader must not think bush* so bad.
There can be no other explanation for it.

11. With 40 votes, 35% feel Nader voters support Bush
If this is true, please stop begging Nader supporters to vote Dem; they want Bush. Leave them and build our Democratic Party.

12. Um...
If they wanted Bush to win they'd just vote Bush. Maybe they'd want the Dem candidate to lose, but if they wanted Bush they'd vote Bush

13. they vote for nader
because they hate kerry and they think that if things get worse for 4 years, then the dem party will right itself.

the problem with many former Dean supporters voting for kerry in the GE is that they are implicitly condoning his IWR vote, in other words they are sending the message, "next time an IWR comes up, feel free to vote for it, we will forgive you." Not everyone is comfortable with sending that message.
