Bush is a Better Politician Than Nader Realizes:
Edited on Sun Feb-22-04 03:10 PM by mdguss
You don't get a 200 million dollar war chest, and 48 million votes by being a pushover. Bush has made a career out of making his opponents think he's a pushover. The minute we start to think that Bush is a pushover, so it is ok to vote for Nader, is the minute Kerry or Edwards loses.

Nader's also wrong about the facts. There are dramatic differences between the two political parties.

In 2000, when I was working for Gore in Pennsylvania, Ralph said he wouldn’t campaign. Ralph lied, and he campaigned in a very questionable state. Now Nader says that Bush doesn’t care about the American people, but Ralph takes money from the same donors that give to the most corporate of administrations. Now despite saying he's against corporate government, Ralph is giving George W. Bush a head start by eroding the base of John Kerry or John Edwards.

Ralph says that Democrats and Republicans are one and the same. Let’s look at the facts: Democrats nearly killed a pharmaceutical welfare bill cloaked as a “Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit.” Republicans kept the vote open throughout the wee hours of the morning, and exerted their power to serve their corporate masters. Ralph lies again.

Ralph says there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans on taxes. Facts: both John Edwards and John Kerry want to eliminate corporate tax shelters for traitor companies that move overseas to avoid taxes. Bush wants to keep those tax loopholes in place. Both John Kerry and John Edwards want to get rid of the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Bush wants even more tax cuts for the rich. Ralph lies again.

Ralph says there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans on foreign policy. Fact: both John Kerry and John Edwards voted against the 87 billion dollar supplemental request for funding the Iraqi occupation. They voted against it because they want to bring the UN into the country, and give the occupation more credibility throughout the world. George W. Bush hates the UN, and Bush gives the UN middle finger when ever he can. Ralph lies again.

Ralph says there is no difference between the two parties on trade. Fact: both John Kerry and John Edwards say they are for fair labor and environmental standards in trade agreements. George W. Bush wants more trade agreements that do not have labor or environmental standards in their texts. Ralph lies again.

The simple fact is that anybody who has spent anytime in Washington (or in politics) knows that Republicans are in bed with business. Democrats represent unions, environmentalists, people who need help from the government, people who need financial aid to go to college, veterans who need adequate medical care, and some smaller business interests. Ralph is too blinded by his own ego to see that.

There are two serial liars in the election for President: George W. Bush and Ralph Nader. Neither of them deserves a vote. If you vote for Nader, you’re voting for four more years of the worst administration of the last 30 years. No egotists. No Nader/Bush or Bush/Nader. Dump Nader and vote Democrat in November.

2. Not just 30 years--ever!
And what bothers me is that Kerry and Edwards will now have to fight a war on two fronts--Nader and Bush. Any time taken away from how this administration has ruined us and betrayed us will hurt us. I used to admire Nader back in the days when it was "Nader's Raiders" but now all the attention, or most of it, will be placed on him. I think that must be what he wants. We must not take our eyes off the main goal--Get Bush!

3. I still think Nixon:
Takes the cake for the worst administration. Bush is up there with him though.

4. Nixon was bad, no argument there
but I have been through both and in my experience Bush, or rather his puppet handlers, has been worse.

5. Maybe:
But Nixon with his enemies list and running a criminal ring from the White House caused the cynicism that fuels people like Nader (and even Bush).
