My Theory on Nader's Crazy Crusade
It is my belief that Nader seeks to damage the Democratic Party with losses badly enough that the party will eventually split between the liberal and moderate wings and disolve creating a fairly large opening for a Greenish(not Green Party) movement. Tell me what you think of this.

1. I don't think he's that stupid
There's no reason to believe that splitting the center/left does anything but put the right into power.

25% Green, 25% Dem and 50% Republican ensures republican victories everywhere.

But maybe I've overestimated Ralph's intelligence.

3. That's the point. He wants to destroy the Democratic Party for his own
ego. I think he is genuinely nuts.

6. If that's what he truly wants then he is a genius
an evil genius. And working with Bush.... geez did Nader go to Yale too?

9. I think he must be in some form of collusion to hurt the Democrats.
Whether it is with Bush I am not sure, but he is up to something to hurt the Democratic Party.

18. Yeah I just checked his bio- Princeton and Harvard law.

I doubt he was a spook fighting corporate America, unless he was running interference for GM- Namely, that he was distracting from the real issue- which was that GM was killing public transportation systems across the country while Nader pretended that the real issue was auto safety. But that theory is WAAAAAAAAY out there.

2. In the end the GOP/moderates will greatly outumber what's left.
It would be a fairly large opening for Greens only comparitively. In the big picture it would still be small.
and yes it's crazy to believe any good will come of this.

8. He won't get 4%. Polls in 2000 showed he would get 4-7% and that didn't
happen.

10. If any of you saw him speak on mtp today you might change your
tunes. It is not an ego thing. Nader truly wants to make real change in America. He BELEIVES IN HIS WORDS. He beleives a better world is possible. We need him to keep pointing out the injustices, the corporatism, the corruption etc.

11. I don't trust him. Only a deceitful lunatic would say the things he said.
There are MAJOR differences between Democrats and Republicans. If he isn't satisfied because the Democrats don't believe in Socialism, then he can just shove a baseball bat up his ass. This is all for the benefit of Ralph Nader and not this country. Why else would he risk re-electing a president that will destroy all that he supposedly holds dear?

12. Excuse me, but how the
heck is Nader going to effect change? He WON'T EVER get elected to anything. The only change he'll ever make is to elect GOP and help to instate their policies. Enuff of the pie in the sky idealism...that's for babies who have yet to develop their critical thinking facilities. Further, the fact that Nader believes what he saying is proof positive of nothing, except to say yes, madmen ALWAYS believe what they are saying.

13. I can not forgive him for 2000
Nader is seeking to satisfy his own narcissistic impulses.
The best way to deal with him is just to ingnore him.
I can no longer say anythig good about him.
He adds nothing of value.

16. Unfortunately that may be true
Why can't we on the left STICK TOGETHER (though with Bush in office it looks like we finally have started to). I just think that to make major changes starts on the level on congress and senate, the presidency is the last step.

I just hope that the people who may have supported Nader in the past now know that 4 more years of Bush will not only not support their cause, but set them even farther back.

17. The left can't stick together because some of those on the left are so
idealistic they have lost touch with reality.
