Dems about to capitulate once more.
"House Democratic leaders could complete work as soon as Monday on a half-trillion-dollar spending package that will include billions of dollars for the war effort in Iraq without the timelines for the withdrawal of combat forces that President Bush has refused to accept, House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) said yesterday.

In a complicated deal over the war funds, Democrats will include about $11 billion more in domestic spending than Bush has requested, emergency drought relief for the Southeast and legislation to address the subprime mortgage crisis, Hoyer told a meeting of the Washington Post editorial board."

3. I am furious over this and about to leave the Dem party if it happens. Here's a copy of comment
on the Post article:

The American people need a strong Independent to enter the 08 race NOW. We need to get rid of both existing politital parties, who exist not for the benefit of our country, but for the benefit of their own respective party.

Why Dems would cave to a criminal, grossly unpopular lame-duck president and go against the mandate of 62% of Americans is mind boggling. We can fund lots of good domestic issues with the billions being poured into Iraq simply by not funding this illegal invasion of a country that was no threat to the US.

Every American needs to call their reps and Senators, regardless of party, and tell them ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Not one more penny for this illegal war. Only dollars to remove our troops f*cking forever.

Hoyer, Pelosi and Reid should be removed from their leadership positions NOW.

I agree with another poster who stated I was a Dem until I read this article.
