Why did the CIA destroy the tapes??

They knew it was illegal to destroy them. Yet, they were willing to suffer the consequences of that rather than make them public. What could have been so horrible that they were willing to destroy evidence requested by the 9/11 Commission as well as the defense for Jose Padilla, the terrorist that was convicted and sentenced to life in prison? Who made the decision to destroy these tapes? Of course, the President only found out about it last week.

The most disturbing point in this whole matter is the total nonchalance and disregard with which the Republicans in the House and Senate look at this issue. What would it take for them to put their country and our laws above their Party and their leader? How much more proof do they need? Is it any wonder Americans have lost hope in our nation? The Republican Party is acting like an enemy of the people. Let them get together with the Democrats and get to the bottom of this. Are they afraid of the truth?

3. Torture Tapes

Obviously they were tapes of torture. That's why the CIA lied to the 9/11 Commission by saying they did not have these tapes, and that's why they were destroyed. No other reasonable explanation fits. Certainly not "protecting identities" - that's utter bullshit - faces could have been blacked out.

The prisoner was not tortured. He talked willingly. He said that there were three Saudi's and one Pakistani who knew that the US was planning a 9/11 attack (presumably on their own country). The four have since died. Two of them were Saudi princes.

destroying evidence of airline crashes for 5 years is a federal offence..those FAA officers were promoted not jailed..as they should have been!

And they were never questioned under oath by the 9/11 commission..nor were the ATC controllers who were on those tapes.

So when people turn their nose up and say ..you are a conspiracy theorist about 9/11..if they believe the * bullshit..they are the real conspiracy theorists!
