HR 676 and Clinton, Obama and Edwards
Clinton, Obama and Edwards are not offering health care plans. These three candidates are really only offering various vague ideas or talking points. There is only one detailed health care plan proposed by any candidate for president in this election. This plan is the Conyers Kucinich bill, HR 676 , universal single payer not for profit health care. Link /www.thomas.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d110:h.r.00676:

HR 676 is a detailed bill. Many are ascribing attributes to the plans of Clinton, Obama and Edwards as if their plans were also detailed bills like HR 676. For example, there is the constant refrain that John Edwards health insurance plan is on the road to single payer. The fact is that there is not enough detail in the John Edwards health care plan to make any such claim.

Edwards makes the claim that he will offer a public plan modeled after medicare to compete with the private plans. The devil here is in the details. There is not enough detail here to have any type of reasonable discussion of this plan. How is this public plan to be funded? How is the public plan to be implemented? Why should someone choose the public plan over the private plan? Why should someone that chooses a private plan want tax dollars going to the public plan? etc. etc. etc.

This is why it is so important that HR 676 is an actual detailed bill. These questions are all answered. The vague single-payer hint in the Edward's plan is no more than a red herring designed to deflect the discussion from a true single payer solution.

5. Re: Socialized Medicine
I was just curious, did your children go to public school? Not that it's any of my busniess, but I just wanted to point out that Public Schools are a "socialized" program here in the good ol' USA. A socialized program, or "government commie" program as you put it, is one controlled by the government and paid by tax revenues. So, our military, highways, police and fire departments, and libraries are all programs that fall under that criteria. It's a shame that you would think that less of yourself as a human being that you would go hungry and lose your home because an HMO would deny you a surgery that you might possibly need in order for them to save some money. Furthermore, doesn't it upset you that CEO's of the HMO's get more money for the more people that they deny claims to?
As an Americian, I think it's important to stand together united for what is right for our country-- for our people. And for you to sit there and think that it is for one second okay for these rich fat-cat CEO's to make money contingent on whether people live or die is probabally the least patriotic thing you could do.....

6. Keep repeating this. Now, during the next year,
and after someone is elected whose vague ideas and talking points end up in the white house.

Then ask why people still aren't getting the care they need.

I honestly don't see how any Democrat could NOT support HR 676. I'm certainly holding them accountable, anyway.
