5. Fuck. Ralph Nader?
I wouldn't give him the satisfaction. Plus, I am straight. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

6. Don't worry about it
He doesn't have the greens behind him this time. So many people who voted for him last time regret it now. The country sees now what a disaster * is. No one, except Jim Hightower and Molly Ivins, had an idea last time. Nader is going nowhere.

20. I'm in for that. If he does this, he
should be given the very clear message that he is one of the most hated men in America. Maybe that would cool off the megalomania a little bit.

A few threads were kind of ok, but can we sometimes stop with these Nader threads??I mean the whole page is full of it, there are enough threads already if you want to discuss it.This mass of Nader threads is giving him more credit than he deserves.
Just concentrate on the strenghts of the Dem candidates.

10. We've asked for this.
When the party had a real Democrat running -- Howard Dean -- we bought the media lies about him being 'unelectable' and even 'crazy' and stabbed him in the back in N.H. Everything went downhill from there.

Kerry voted for war in Iraq. (no quibbling over this please; Scott Ritter says Kerry had to have known all along Bush was lying)

Kerry voted for tax cuts for the rich.

Kerry let himself get herded into voting for the Patriot Act.

Nader showed every sign of backing off if Dean had been chosen.

If we have to lose a war and bring on another depression to get people's heads out of their asses I say bring it on.

17. So Ralph has decided to stab Dem voters in the back
because their choice for the Dem nomination isn't the same as his? That's the sign of a megalomaniac.

12. So what
The Democratic Party had every oppotunity to pick a candidate that would have had him deciding not to run, but they went sloping off after the centre again.

15. So now we're supposed to get Ralph's blessing
when we choose our nominee? Who gives a shit what he thinks. He's not even a Democrat. That's the worst form of egomania.

18. You do what it takes to win elections
that is the basic idea I thought. You pick a candidate that detaches the Left from the party and you end up losing the election then that is your fault, it was your decision.

I don't actually think you need to worry anyway, i think someone has made a judgement that there are more votes to be gained by going for the centre than will be lost on the Left by pursueing this course.

19. So now Ralph gets to hold the democratic
party hostage, and threaten to wreck the election if he doesn't get the candidate that he wanted? Since when does he have the right to have any say at all in who we choose as our nominee. He isn't even a member of this party. If he wants to have an influence on our party's policies he can join us and run for the Democratic nomination, just like Al Sharpton is doing.

As it is, he has no moral authority to be calling any shots in our party at all, since he isn't even a member.

The Democratic party did not choose the candidate, the voters are. It isn't the one that I wanted and it isn't the one that you wanted, but it is the one that the voters are choosing.

14. Progressives and Greens have mostly deserted Nader. . .
all they want is to get * out of the WH. So like it or not, they'll vote for the eventual Dem nominee - this once.

23. Let him run. There are people who are never going to vote..
for Dems because they are not Democrats. They have communist and socialist agendas that they want the Democrats to assume. It ain't gunna happen. A vote for Nader is not going to be a vote that would otherwise go to a Dem in 2004. The 2004 "Democrats" who voted for Nader know better now.
