1. How about Labor
I agree with not assuming Edwards is the best choice. Not only Clark, but Gephardt would also greatly help in battleground states.

6. Gephardt is the best pick
It won't get alot of people excited - but if they want to win, then Geppy is the man. He probably brings MO - key swing state. He's done it all before so there's no learning curve - thoroughly vetted. Passes the "can you see him as president" test. Huge help in the industrul midwest with labor groups. Geppy is the man.

2. I agree but
wouldn't Clark have the Kosovo baggage? I've heard some right-wingers talk about Clark's "failure" in Kosovo. I do think Clark would be great, but Edwards might be even better. The one thing Clark might have going for him is that he was in the military, as was Kerry. Unlike the Bush/Cheney team.

4. " Clark's "failure" in Kosovo"
whatever. The Kosovo "baggage" is a crap story, by a scared Bush regime. The targets he hit were communcation sites. Im not going through this tired old crap again. I suggest further study than what "right wingers" have to say.:eyes:

5. We've got a lot of great choices here for VP
And there's a great chance someone will be tapped that hasn't been considered yet by most people (like a Sam Nunn).

7. I agree that Clark would be better than Edwards,
but I'm not sure Clark wants to be VP. He's been pretty emphatic in his denials. He might be more comfortable as Secretary of State or National Security Adviser. I think Edwards is starting to look pretty unlikely. If he doesn't beat Kerry in Georgia, or at least finish fairly close, his value as a vote-getter in the South isn't going to look too impressive. He did well in Wisconsin talking about trade and outsourcing, but if that's what Kerry's looking for, Gephardt is a far more logical choice. I suspect Gephardt is probably the frontrunner now but I'm sure the final decision won't be made until shortly before the convention. Mark Warner is probably higher on the list than Edwards, since Kerry/Warner would have a good chance of carrying Virgina, whereas North Carolina looks unlikely even with Edwards on the ticket.

9. He was emphatic about
not being Howard Dean's VP, because he doesn't believe in the "Dick Cheney" model. I think he would be perfectly willing to be VP to someone who he thinks is fully qualified to be Commander in Chief, and be responsible for his own foreign policy.

I think Gephardt would be a terrible choice. He wasn't even able to get any votes in Iowa, which was supposed to be a bastion of his support. He would also get ripped to shreds in a debate with Dick Cheney, or else it would be a re-run of the Cheney/Lieberman "debate" of last time. A disaster.

11. Has Kerry won the nomination yet? I think not!
I am counting on Edwards derailing Kerry's train ride to the nomination, and sparing the party a defeat in November that we can ill afford.
