Democratic congressional candidate Robin Weirauch estimates she has encountered thousands of people in the 5th district during recent weeks.

“This is a very different campaign,” Weirauch said Tuesday while greeting employees of the Fostoria Honeywell plant. “Everything is so condensed.”

Congressional candidate Robin Weirauch greeted Honeywell employees in Fostoria between shifts Tuesday. Weirauch spoke to several workers as they left the plant at the end of the shift.

Saturday, Weirauch and Gov. Ted Strickland attended four events together to meet voters, including a trip to Tiffin to walk in the Christmas parade.

“Sometimes we have many events in a row when we get around the district,” Weirauch said.

Weirauch said her campaign has been building on relationships established in earlier campaigns in the district.

Weirauch ran against the late Rep. Paul Gillmor in two attempts to unseat the long-time congressman. She now faces State Rep. Bob Latta, R-Bowling Green, in her current attempt to win the seat. A special general election is set for Dec. 11.
