Kerry Blasts Bush Over Attacks on Record
http://customwire.ap.org/dynamic/stories/K/KERRY?SITE=MIDTN&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT

<snip>
In a letter to Bush on Saturday, Kerry wrote: "As you well know, Vietnam was a very difficult and painful period in our nation's history, and the struggle for our veterans continues. So, it has been hard to believe that you would choose to reopen these wounds for your personal political gain. But, that is what you have chosen to do."

<snip>
In his letter to Bush, Kerry called Chambliss' run against Cleland "one of the most despicable campaigns ever conducted."

<snip>
Kerry also defended his military record during an interview taped Saturday for broadcast Sunday morning on ABC's "This Week."

"I don't know what it is that all these Republicans who didn't serve in Vietnam are fighting a war against those of us who did," the Massachusetts senator said.

1. I mean, really
Saxby Chambliss?? Is this their "big gun"? hahahahahahaha

Saxby . . . hahahahaha

What a joke. His defeat of Max Cleland should have launched an investigation into those damn voting machines down there in Georgia.

2. "Bring It On"
What happened to those big words from Kerry? Now he's looking like he can dish it out, but can't handle it when it's given back to him. The guy is weak, and will fall like a house of cards. It's time for democrats to do the right thing and get behind Edwards.

3. Are you NUTS!?!?! Why don't you read the letter and press release

http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/releases/pr_2004_0221d.html

from letter to Bush

I am fighting to become the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party.  Even before Democrats make their choice, you’ve launched a campaign of attacks against me.  I am determined to run a campaign on the great challenges facing this country-- from creating jobs, to solving our health care crisis to getting our nation's ballooning deficit under control. But I will not sit back and allow my patriotism to be challenged.

America deserves a better debate.  If you want to debate the Vietnam era, and the impact of our experiences on our approaches to presidential leadership, I am prepared to do so.

This is not a debate to be distorted through your $100 million dollar campaign fund. This is a debate that should be conducted face to face.

4. Republicans were cowards then
and they are cowards now. Bush, Cheney, Chambliss, etc... all found their ways to avoid Vietnam (without being anti-war of course). Now they lead the charge into Iraq but don't even have the courage to try to pay for it. Soldiers make a sacrifice and so will future generations who have to pay for Iraq and the rest of the GW debt. Bush doesn't even have the balls to put Iraq in next year's budget. He trying to wait until after the election to hit Americans with the sticker shock again.
