With Dean vowing to campaign for the nominee
Edited on Sun Feb-22-04 06:49 AM by wtf
do you think money, or lack there of, is going to be the issue everyone is making it out to be? He's proven a lot of things since he first announced his candidacy, and the ability to raise a ton of money is one of them. Any thoughts?

2. It would be great if Dean could help level the battlefield in 2004
Howard Dean will have more power in the party if he proves he can continue to raise big money. The more money he has access to, the more people inside the party are going to have to listen to him.

If Dean can put together an alternate to the DLC, which can bring big money to the party, and make big changes as well, more power to him and his supporters.

3. Dean can raise money to do what he needs to
and as for right now, he's not'campaigning'for anyone else. I will still be voting for Dean.

4. Any money is welcome.
435 Dems running for the House need some and ,Oh 30 some senators do too. Dean's abrasive, blowhard style which sank his run may not be welcome. I think those running will wait for the details.
If Dean had any real money he would be still in the race. Judging from here, most of his supporters will be voting for loser candidates.

6. Oh, but Buckeye, they couldn't possibly want that dirty Dean money
it is so tainted, it came from the little people, the rabble. That would be, in a word, distasteful. And besides, like you said, Dean didn't have any real money. It was all the Monopoly kind. And as for loser candidates, let's see, Kerry, Yes, I agree.

5. I take Dr. Dean at his word about supporting the nominee.

I have never had the slightest doubt that Dr. Dean is a loyal Democrat who will do whetever he can, wheneever and however he can to help our party's nominee; that includes helping the party and the nominee to raise money.

Dr. Dean is a classy guy, AFAIAC.

:)

7. Dean could raise money like no other Democrat ever.
Some 300,000 people contributed low dollar amounts (I think an average of $66.00 per contributor is what I've recently seen). But most of those people, I suspect, won't be willing to give to any other campaign. I know I won't.

I will be giving my money and my time to a Democrat running for Senate here in Kansas. Actually, I've already made a $100 donation and I'm already volunteering regularly for her.

8. You hit the nail on the head there Sheila. I really doubt that kind
of money will be raised for another candidate from the Dean supporters. Most of them already gave more than they could afford. :hi:

9. Link please
I heard him say he was goign to support the nominee, I didn't hear a word about him campaigning for the nominee.

Not to mention the fact that it's up to whomever ends up being The Ham Sandwich (D) to decide if Dean should be campaigning for him or not.
