Honestly, all any of the dems have to do is call * out for being what he is, a pathological LIAR!!! Is Kerry waiting until the GE so that it has more impact? I never even heard Dean straight out call * a liar? WTF!?! What are they waiting for?

12. Sharton's line was better than that
I'm sure you remember it...

Sharpton said (paraphrased) that if Bush wasn't lying, then that was even scarier than if Bush was lying.

2. Proof is my guess.
YOu need something hard to call him a liar and I don't think he has somehting hard enough. It's a very very serious charge.

4. It's more effective to allow Bush to show himself a liar
when asked for a one-word description of Bush, equal percentages now give negative and positive responses, which marks a dramatic shift since last May when positive descriptions outnumbered negative ones by roughly two-to-one (52%-27%). The most frequently used negative word to describe Bush is "liar,"

15. I agree. I don't understand this obsession with demanding that
our candidates call Bush a liar, but it's posted all the time.

Calling Bush a liar looks petty and accomplishes almost nothing, unless you plan to do it on a continual basis; allowing him to prove that he's a liar is much more effective in the long run.

Obviously, people are figuring it out on their own. We need to continue to point out the inconsistencies and that trend will continue.

11. Kerry said the F word in his Rolling Stone interview
Edited on Sun Feb-22-04 03:27 AM by Melodybe
He was the first of the democratic candidates to say the F word in a national interview. It is now lovingly referred to as the F-bomb.

13. Politics 101:
Never call an opponent a liar unless everyone thinks so.(Nixon towards the end)

Politics 102: Demonstrate your opponent is a liar with subtle style.
"He said but, he did" as much as possible.

Politics 103: Use surrogates to enable discussion of character flaws.

A recent example: 1) M. Moore calls Bush a deserter.
2) In the debate, Jennings demands Clark dis Moore. Clark pulls the 1st amendment. "Its his opinion and his right to have it".
3) Hoping to diminish Clark, media opens a can of worms with many unwanted results. Debate erupts over it and it plays for many days.
4) Pay off: Story runs way too long, questions are poorly answered. Doubt is created. In the end the foul oder of dishonesty can never be washed out.

Blowhard rhetoric might feel good but it doesn't work.

Gotta hand it to them Repugnican spinners. "Death tax" is still my favorite for stuffing as much negativity and deception as possible into two syllables.
