Did Obama supporters learn anything? (Bidenc)
I'm sad to see that Obama's supporters didn't learn a damn thing about how to act in the front runner role from Team Hillary. This bullshit about focusing on Biden's "racist" comments is ridiculous. It is just as absurd as Hillary's supporters yelling out "SEXISM every time they felt their candidate was disrespected.

Playing the victim does not win friends or votes. Obama supporters would be smart to learn that lesson, less they suffer the same fate as Hillary.

2. It was racially tone deaf
I don't think Biden means anything by his remarks. They're the kind of comments that were once considered respectful of blacks. Over time, they came to reflect a sort of tokenism and I don't think Biden gets it. These are the subtleties of racism that linger in the best of white America. It would be nice if Obama and Biden had a chat, that Biden got some schooling, and then made a joint presser when Biden finally gets his "ah ha" moment.

13. well said. tone deaf is exactly what it was. and to my knowledge
no one here has said it was anything more than that- contrary to the OP's contention.

17. Oh, I don't Know...
Look at Post #14 of this very thread. I think that this is more than just saying he is tone deaf.

Our contention is rather mild suggesting that Obama may not have the experience. However, Biden is being called a racist. Put yourself in a Biden supporter's shoes. Would that be a problem for you?

26. Shifting the argument makes it worse
Biden's comment has nothing to do with Obama's experience at all, there's no reason to mix that into a racially stupid remark. Sometimes the best thing to do when your candidate has made a little muff is to shut up about it and let it go away.

Biden has made these kinds of insensitive racial remarks on many occasions. Recently he made some kind of crass remark about race and school and was given a pass because people decided his intent was sincere. At some point, it gets a little old. The man needs to try to understand that there is an element of racism in making these comments.

Equal means Equal. White people are raised with a sense of privilege that they usually don't even recognize they've got. These little comments is how it reveals itself.

normally we are trashing the Republicans. Now that it is the political season, we simply trash each other. We are eating our own and it is apparently an acquired taste.

5. Obama: Not ready for prime time against the Republican Noise Machine
He lost a congressional primary in 2000 and defeated an opponent in 2004 so loony that the Illinois GOP did not support him.

What has this guy done in the major leagues?

Hillary's downfall owes a lot to the fact that she head behind "sexism" in order to deflect. Obama's supporters (which, heres a secret, I'm one of) need to be careful to avoid doing themselves.

given the context of the question.

Please do not lump all Obama supporters into one group. Thank you.

I don't believe most of Obama's supporters are buying into the spurious argument that a handful on this blog are trying to make. It's just disappointing. Too Republicanesque for me. Thanks again, calteacherguy.

But you make a very good point. This could unfairly hurt Sen. Biden, but it will also hurt Obama.

which is to say, not very.

Mostly something for us to lick around on a slow Sunday. Why would Obama waste his time trying get even for a perceived slight when it has nothing to do with the REAL race anyway? Anyone who has watched his candidacy should know by now that he's too smart for that.
