Guiliani?
I have no repug friends or relatives (lucky me). So could one or some of y'all who do and has one that supports Giuliani...could you ask them...how in god's green earth could they want a womanizing, cheat, an abuser of public funds and a serial liar to be president of the US? During the debate they had one of those test groups that listen to the debate and measure the galvanic skin responses of the group. When torture was condemned (McCain) or the mention of giving to the poor were mentioned, the response of the crowd was definitely negative. What kind of people are these?

1. His support appears to be comprised of people who think he will
single-handledly protect us from those nasty terrorists.

It's not a very sophisticated look at the global landscape and I don't think it's going to sustain Giuliani's campaign.

He's on a downward trend everywhere.

Which is ok by me.

7. His numbers are fading as you said..
because finally there is more exposure of his history
Vs just the name recognition as America's mayor which he
milks ad nauseum.

8. Yes. And at the time he most needs to be a good speaker, he still isn't
and never was.

I think he's made a desperate turn down an alleyway and is about to crash into the building at the end by the dumpster.

2. that was scary
I thought the same thing, when Hukabee was being logical on Illegal immigrant children, down trend! McCain being logical on torture, down trend and the worst part was when Mitt was responding with purely political doublespeak on torture, up trend!

3. These people want a mythical hero that doesn't exist in real life.
Giuliani is trying his damnedest to project that image without his history of being the authoritarian tyrant with a bad attitude.

5. Agree. I've noticed a big push by the major media outlets to
paint "profiles" of "America's Mayor."

Yuck!

6. The Ghoul was in trouble just before he left office...
there was a LOT of discontent w/him, especially in the Fire, Police, Sanitation...just about everybody who works for the City knows he's nothing more than an empty shell filling a suit. He's all bluster and 9-11 saved his political butt for about 3 months.

He ran and hid that day, just like bush did. He came out when the "all clear" was sounded, and then tried to take over the project to retrieve bodies and search for survivors.

The Ghoul made sure everything in the City that looked was attributed to him, but if something went wrong, (which it often did), he spared no one the wrath of the press, citizens Unions...he placed the blame for the error on the shoulders of an underling. It was all "Rudy's way, or no way". He'd do the same as president, just think of bush x3...
