Some GE polls from various states
http://www.presidentelectionpolls.com/

Some intersting finds:

Republicans in Danger of Losing Indiana to the Democrats

11/25/07

Bush carried Indiana over Al Gore and John Kerry by comfortable margins in elections 2000 and 2004 respectively but the latest poll out of Indiana suggests that a generic Democratic candidate would beat the generic Republican candidate 37% to 32%.

If Evan Bayh is selected as a Vice Presidential candidate on the Democratic ticket, the Democrats would have a 47% to 33% advantage.

It is no wonder Democrats are gaining an advantage in this state. 74% says we are headed in the wrong track, 68% disapprove of Bush's handling of the war in Iraq, and 71% disapprove of the Immigration policy. 56% say that troops should leave sooner as compared to only 38% saying they should stay longer.

John McCain is More Electable than Rudy Giuliani

11/24/07

John McCain is struggling in his quest for the Republican nomination but the latest Survey USA polls show that he is in a much better position in a general election against either Clinton or Obama.

Ohio

* Giuliani is 5% behind Clinton, McCain is 1% ahead.
* Giuliani is 8% ahead of Obama but McCain is 15% ahead.

Iowa

* Giuliani is 6% behind Clinton but McCain is only 2% behind.

Wisconsin

* Giuliani is 7% behind Clinton but McCain is only 2% behind.
* Obama is 5% ahead of Giuliani but lags behind McCain by 4%.

Minnesota

* Giuliani is 6% behind Clinton but McCain is only 3% behind.
* Against Obama, Giuliani is in a dead heat but McCain leads him by 3%.

Virginia

* Giuliani is in a tie with Clinton but McCain is 9% ahead.
* Giuliani is 4% ahead of Obama but McCain is 10% ahead.

Oregon

* Giuliani is 1% behind Clinton while McCain is 3% ahead.
* Giuliani is 11% behind Obama but no worries with McCain as he is in a dead heat.

1. The question is, why are they polling McCain?
The polls should be with Giuliani and Romney.

3. All along McCain is the one Candidate who consistently beats
HRC.

You asked why poll McCain. Simple McCain is down but not out.

The GOP has not reached any decision on who their candidate
will be.

As Eleanor Clift writes McCain has his Mojo back and may be
the only one left standing. In other words McCain still has
a chance of being Republican Candidate.

4. substitute "occasionally" for "consistently" and your argument would be better
I think McCain may well get the nomination, and is clearly the most electable of the pug field.

And he does poll better than others against Hillary, as well as Obama and anyone else.

But he does not consistently beat HRC in polling, by any stretch

6. I'm surprised McCain is doing well in polls, as
Edited on Sat Dec-01-07 02:38 PM by Hawaii Hiker
many don't like his stance on immigration, plus he's all for continuing war in Iraq...

Also, he's not raising alot of money, nothing like Rudy, & certainly nothing like Clinton or Obama...

5. According to the Behavior Research Center Rocky Mountain
Poll, Giuliani is leading mcCain in his home state of Arizona 20% to 18%. If McCain can't even lead in his home state he is in big trouble. This poll was taken Nov. 14th.
