about the electoral map and red versus blue states?

I was listening to a right-wing radio show the other day (so shoot me), and the callers were getting all excited because of a new Zogby poll (I think it was Zogby). They were saying that, even though the Dem nominees are outpolling Bush in nationwide polls, the red states are still pretty solidly for Bush, and the blue states for Dems, and so the electoral count is not showing the same shift as the polls suggest.

Has anyone at DU posted about this poll? Or are there any good threads you can point me to that talk about the GE in terms of electoral strategy and where Dems stand right now?
