Dean's last e-mail to his supporters.
edited by jansu, just taking some of the long e-mail out.
Dear Fellow Dean Supporter:

Thanks to you, we have much to celebrate about Dean for America in California. Think about what we did in this state with virtually no resources:..............

--We have over 100,000 people across the Golden State signed up to support Howard Dean. That’s almost one-sixth of the national total. California is indeed Dean Country. (Imagine if the primary season was set up differently....jansu)

--We had the best-organized delegate caucuses in the state by far. Again, we did this without resources other than the hard work, dedication and drive of our volunteer organizers and so many of you that chose to run as delegates. With a bit of extra effort, some of you will still go to the convention as Howard Dean delegates!

--We are all asking “what now?” Governor Dean has been explicit. Although his campaign is in suspension, he encourages you to support his candidacy by sending Dean delegates to the convention.

Most importantly, keep fighting to take our country back. We will all support whoever is the Democratic nominee, confident that Howard Dean’s message framed this election. We cannot afford to have a third party candidate help George Bush win. And stay involved. Dean for America means what it says. He is for us and we are for him. We are for a strong nation unified by hope, truth and honesty, by a nation that includes, that offers opportunity to all. That is Howard Dean’s message. That is what brought us all together and that is the fight we will win.

Although this is the last newsletter you will receive from us, our website, http://ca.deanforamerica.com, will continue to operate as will the Dean For America home page and blog. Watch for details on the March 2nd parties to appear on the California site soon. Let’s celebrate what we have done and redouble our commitment to stay focused on democracy in America.

The Governor’s pledge to change our country, to make it work again for everyday Americans, inspires today as it did when we first heard him. We hope that all of you have taken that idea to heart and will work to make it a reality.

Stay in touch and remember

YOU HAVE THE POWER!

2. We've Only Just Begun
I do not think anyone, not even Governor Dean, really understands what happened here. I hope and work to see that this seedling of democracy, real democracy, survives and flourishes. The Rennaisance of the Enlightenment and the end of corporate politics is the only thing worth living for.

3. It is the beginning,
not the end, and I hope Dean will be key in the movement that continues from his campaign. But with or without Dean, a new era in "small-d" democracy has been born.

5. well... "most recent" would be more truthful
because surely with each and every subsequent primary result there will be a rah-rah post from the Dr. about how everyone's doing a gung-ho job of continuing the "message" and securing a "voice" for the convention as Dean continues to get votes.
