Bush pushes Democrats to OK war funding

WASHINGTON - President Bush sternly pressed Democrats to approve money to fund the Iraq war "without strings and without delay" before leaving town for the Christmas holidays, something congressional leaders have already indicated they will not do.

After more failed attempts to pass legislation ordering troops home from Iraq, Democrats have said they plan to sit on Bush's $196 billion request for war spending until next year...

My view: They should have done this last spring when people actually had hope for this Congress. As it is now, better late than never. Maybe this will be the watershed event that causes our party leadership to finally drop this cowardly smokescreen of "we don't have the votes," and actually do their friggin jobs. This is definitely a good sign. - End rant.
