2. No, not to me in the least...
he just bugs me. I would HATE to have another president that I couldn't stand. But, I have to be honest here, I think there may only be one candidate that could beat him. I'll leave it at that.

And especially when they believe the earth is only 6,000 or so years old. This is every bit as ignorant as believing in a flat earth.

5. He doesn't even make SENSE half the time--he reminds me of a southern Cliff Clavin.
Loves the spotlight, loves to come up with weird analogies and stupid one-liners. I'm not sure how this yokel became governor. Why anyone would be impressed with him is beyond me, but then, I never liked GWB either, from the moment I saw him. There's no accounting for taste.

8. No, he's no threat
look at his record in my state, Arkansas. Besides raising taxes and putting taxes on certain services, he closed many rural schools without improving education-merely added a layer of bureaucracy and made kids ride the buses longer. There was a BIG groundswell against him in NW Arkansas because of this--and NW Arkansas is the most Republican part of the state!

16. I don't think so
You'd think if he were popular in Arkansas you'd see signs out for him. When Clinton ran in '92, they were all over the place. But this year, the Republican ex-Governor is being ignored. In the town where I work, I've seen a Fred Thompson yard sign and a real Ron Paul bumper sticker and a couple of home-made Ron Paul posters tacked to signs--and that's all. My neighbor, who regularly goes to work in Little Rock and in Fayetteville says that she's seen a ton of Ron Paul stickers and signs both places, but none for Huckabee.

37. In the year 2004.....................
During the presidential election my little town in S.E. Ohio was awash in Kerry signs. I was very confident in an Ohio Kerry victory. You could not find anyone that would admit to being a Bush supporter.

I wouldn't count too much on signs being..................a sign of anything.

38. Depends on whether Diebold decides the election again
But you may be right. One thing I think the signs indicate is the amount of interest in politics right now. In '04, by this stage of the game, there were a lot more signs than you see now. I'm thinking people are sick of politics or are afraid of backlash from their signs/stickers.

15. ???--Is weight loss a Presidential quality? Is that considered Presidential
material now, that you stopped indiscriminately shoving food down your pie hole and got off your ass every once in a while? Jesus, we have really gone down the toilet in our choice of leaders.

23. Lol
The post said that he's impressive as a minister and as a weight loser ~ I thought it was obvious that I didn't think he was presidential material.

Unfortunately, there are those on the right who will be very comforted by him ~ many Republicans want a daddy figure, and this guy is certainly that. He'll tuck everyone in at night AND listen to their confessions!

17. The scary thing about him is...
the religious right. Look what they did with Bush. But, here's the thing. There are 72 million registered Democrats, 55 million Republicans, and 42 million Ind. IF we could just get 3/4 of the dems, and 1/2 of the Ind's to vote, we wouldn't even have to worry about the right.

26. He only impresses me with his ability to disguise himself
as a nice guy, instead of a theocratic ideologue; and that, truly, is a threat. If he gets the RW base, and can play with the right centrists and independents who don't want to abandon the party, we could be in trouble. We do NOT want a "close" election with Diebold around.

28. Huckabee is like Chimpy with brains.
His biggest weakness is the name "Huckabee". Other than that, he's the perfect sell to that "Plain old Jesus lovin' good ol' boy that you can drink a beer with" crowd.

Hell, I even like Huckabee as a person, but his politics make me puke :puke:

Chimpy made me puke before he ever opened his mouth, just by being a Bush.
